Be prepared for the worst and be physically and mentally ready to face it eyes in the eyes. That’s what surviving is all about…

  11. I try and keep fit anyway but obviously been doing more rowing. That said it's not really a rowing challenge, it's a keeping yourself fit and healthy challenge, with limited resources. Currently I'm doing 5 short stints on the rower each day to replicate what the rowing shift will be ( we're a pair so most likely 2 on 2 off) . It's an eating race really

  12. From what I read a few years back naked rowing’s all the thing as all contact points will chafe and high calorific foods to reduce your deficit each day. Good luck on your epic task.

  16. I ain't rowing naked, not sure my rowing buddy could stand it, but you're right about the chafing ( and blisters, and sea sickness and not enough calories, trying to put on weight but failing miserably

  17. Problem I found at endurance events is you get sick of having to constantly eat, towards the end I was eating food I normally don’t eat/drink. Dates, boullion dry savoury biscuits and flat Coke are stand outs.

Some folk just can’t increase weight no matter what, I needed to gain weight years back found the only way was to eat 5-6times per day at regular intervals even if I didn’t feel hungry.
