Met Rouse at his headquarters, at the time the company I worked were painting some articulated trailers. The manager was a little bit excited to be going to meet him for me meh.
Both yesterday and today I rode the same 32 mile route as I was trying to use the Garmin route navigation, failed both times, so I will repeat, possibly tomorrow. Yesterday I rode with a friend and we met our wives for a quick lunch. Compton & McRae, nr Semley. Highly recommended if you find yourself in between Warminster and Shaftesbury.
Top draw colour on your Cervelo, further enhanced by the gum walls, had a Soloist years back regret selling it as a very versatile bike.
There was no choice in colour in either of my Cervelos, just what the LBS could get at the time. Having said that I’d have happily picked the gold Aspero
The rear is quite straight forward to adjust, the front is a bit of a bastard. This vid is probably the most comprehensive i've come across (once you get over the sanchez 'tash).
Todays ride, started and ended with sunshine, but for 10 miles it hosed it down and I was wetter than an otters pocket by the time I got home. The photo is near the Wylye end of the Second Broad Drive, very lucky to have this on our “doorstep”
Had a steady little bimble out to Redcliffe today, North side of Brissy, too hot to hurry went all continental on the way back and switched the Garmin to KMS,..85kms,..( 52 miles) ..sounds a longer ride! Redcliffe is the boyhood home of the Bee-Gee’s and one street has statues of em and plays their music all day,…heaven or hell, depends on your musical taste I’ll grab some pictures next time out Stopped on the way back for a couple of minutes and it just struck me what a great bike my Cannondale’s been.. I built it up from scratch in 2016, always wanted to do that,..build my own spec bike up using the favourite components that I like, Supersix Hi-Mod carbon frame, full Dura-ace groupset, Mavic Cosmic SLE wheels and FSA carbon bars, stem, seatpost, it stands me at just over £5 grand, but I think I’ve more than had my money’s worth out of it, a similar spec bike nowadays would probably cost you nearer to £10 grand,…crazy money now pushbikes ! Have just fitted a set of Continental GP5000’s on it and really like em, really fast rolling, smooth and quiet, a big improvement to the old GP4000’s I’ve just worn out. Have used the bike loads and it gets me all over, places like this.. On stinking hot days like this… Sorry guys , ..halfway round the ride, it was warmer at the coast than it was inland for some reason today ? The rider…definitely,..the bike,..not so much Laters guys
I know someone else who used to do that kilometres trick when they started on here, back when i was healthier and thought nothing of a 50 mile meander and didn’t even mention it.
I’m nearing heading toward ⚡️ The only problem I’m finding is the limit on sizes of batteries if you decide to take your own bike abroad on a flight !
Re: E-bikes, interesting to see this from a beach in California State:- (protests are underway apparently..)
Not been on the thread much - mum ended up in hospital for a couple of months, dad couldn't get him self there, fortunately work were flexible and I could ferry him to / from the hospital to see mum but it meant no time in the day for cycling. Been back on the bike for a month or so, trying to push the mileage back up and slowly getting there - I'm never going to get back to my racing weight / fitness but I just want it to be more fun !! This week has been frustraing and fun in almost equal measures - fun as it's been mega slippy and the bike has been moving around a lot - two wheel drifts through sections etc etc Frustrating as a creak in the bike led to a bottom bracket bearing replacement (didn't fix it), clean rear axle / hub / sprocket (didn't fix it), grease seatpost (etc) - eventually traced it to a slightly hooked rear sprocket grinding on the chain!! But found this too... A stans two piece jigsaw... ! So - swapped the wheel, my spare wheel was leaking air through the spoke holes so the tubeless sealing tape wasn't working, removed the old sealing tape, got my roll of sealing tape and got 75% round the rim before tit ran out... oh FFS... Got a roll of rim tape, which wouldn't stick to the rim, got another roll of rim tape which also didn't stick to the rim... Ended up with three wraps of electrical insulation tape...
