  1. legalised theft, its a legal requirement so they know we will pay and jump through their hoops.

  2. No matter if you proceed with any repairs or not, claiming or not claiming, after having a conversation with your insurers about any incident you have had they will register it and it will count as an accident etc.

  3. Gosh, that doc is written for the insurance community by the insurance community on behalf of the insurance community!
Nothing in it gives me confidence that the database is anything other than a way for insurers to increase premiums for spurious reasons and find excuses not to pay out for legitimate claims.

I’d like to see the industry publish its research that concluded that if I have a minor nock that I repair myself without resorting to a claim then I am suddenly more likely to claim in the next six years.

  4. If I remember the Andrew Dalton (motorcycle solicitors) article correctly. The database is located in Gib' so falls outside of GDPR bumf. Therefore access to it is somewhat less controlled i believe.

  5. U.K. companies still have to comply with legislation. I did think MIB (yes that’s what they are called!) are U.K. based so all this data should be. But they will have legitimate interest anyway

  6. I’ll try and find the article. It was from White Dalton solicitors but in a bike mag publication.
