I'm not sure where to post this, but I would like you to know this new app. It is an application-catalog of all Ducati models from the 80's to present, with all characteristics (displacement, horsepower, torque ...) and the description of many of them, that could be interesting for many people. It also has pictures of all models, which can be downloaded in high resolution to the tablet or mobile, and it's FREE, of course!. It is called Ducapp, and, as many of you have Ducatis, if you find any mistake on it, please tell me and I'll solve it. Thank you!! L'sss
Sorry, to make apps for the iPhone it's necessary to have a MAC, and pay 100$ a year to submit apps... I do this as a hobby, so Android make it easy for me... Maybe in the future...
Do you mean with a virtual machine? I know many people who tried... and failed. I think Xcode (the editor to compile objective-c), only works on a registered mac computer... And I know it has a good emulator, but it should be checked on a real device (iPhone/iPad)... my primary test device is a HTC Desire wich costed me about 35€ new, more than three years ago.
I sure you can run it on Mac OS running on PC hardware, however there's still the 99usd mac dev centre annual fee to get past for the sdk :/
You only pay, when you want to release to App store or want to install on physical devices. Untill then, you can develop all you want for free in Xcode on Mac OS X.
If people could help with providing the data, i wouldn't mind offering some hours to make a version for iPhone/iPad
Monster Dark - do you fancy writing something up that we could use on the front news page? All I would need would be several paragraphs about the app and any images would also be helpful. Let me know
Free after buying a Mac... I'm developing on a PC that may be valued between 50-100$.... Of course, I'll send you a private message, thank you!
I tried to download the SDK for ios7 and OS X and it wanted a 99usd sign up for the dev network. or maybe thats just the SDK?
iOS 7 is still only in beta, and therefore only available for developers - in order to install it, you need a registered developer device = you must have to pay first. The SDK can be downloaded for free from the Apple App Store on your mac. There is no payment required to register in the developer network - but if you want certain access, e.g beta software, you will have to pay.
I'm sorry if i am being rude now, but i think this is barking up the wrong tree. Ducati is a premium brand - obviously every one likes a good deal, but trying to start a war on this subject, would be like saying "Forget your Ducati, you can get a ShingShangSlash* for a tenth of the price - it still only have two wheels..." I'm sorry my free offer is not good enough for you *ShingShangSlash is just something imaginary low-cost brand of motorcycle.
I'm not trying to sell my PC, and I'm not saying that my PC is better than any Mac.. (In my job, I use a Mac) ¿? I just tried to explain that Android makes it much easier to "hobby-developers" (with less resources) to put their apps on the market. About your last sentence... is it referred me? (If so, I don't understand it, sorry)
Cool, Ive got it. I'll have a read through and get something up for the news page, probably this (Thursday) afternoon
Now on the front news page. I couldnt use the pics you sent, so I subbed them for one I felt suitable. Any problems/questions let me know
It's great, thank you again! If you want me to send you the images by any other way just tell me (I've seen you have had some trouble with the pic of the monsters 25th anniversary, but now the panigale photo is beautiful)
