Picked the bike up last saturday. Mileage so far 265. We are going to WSB at Silverstone sunday which would add 240 so total 505. At least 50 miles to dealers so if I could get it booked in for next week (unlikely) I could probably get there just about on the nose of 600. But how strict is the 600 for first service? Service book says you MUST adhere to service schedules.....
I had mine done at pretty much 600 and got told I should have put a few more on it first as the service message isn't triggered until somewhere roundabout 640....not sure where I remember that figure from so someone else might be able to throw a more accurate figure in here. Anyway, if you get it serviced before the message pops up you'll need to go back to the dealer to get them to turn it off as they can't deactivate it until it's triggered.
You'll have a little leeway. The first service is just a basic check, making sure all the fluids haven't leaked and the thing hasn't started to fall apart etc. As long as you haven't rolled up 1200+ miles it will be fine
If you have it done before service light comes on you'll have to take it back later to be reset Isn't it 1000 km? I think Going over a bit is fine
If you don't get it there bang on 600 miles your cock turns black and drops off. That's why you MUST adhere to service schedules.....
Its 1000kms which is 621 miles. My dealer told me 100 miles over isn't a problem but don't go under. You need to have triggered the service warning (assuming the 848 has one).
Yes 848 definitely has one as Scott at Ducati Wolves mentioned it would come on at 640 miles when he was showing me around the bike....
My supplier told me between 600 and anywhere under1000 miles is usually OK with their workshop. Ugh got to change my avatar, its confusing.
Awwwww Bollocks ! I never knew this. I got the Streetfighter serviced at 540miles. Looks like I have another trip to my dealers next week
It's not so bad, just a case of them plugging into the bike and clearing the service light....think mine took all of 10 minutes. Just a bugger if you live a fair distance from a dealers
Mine will be approaching 900 miles - I couldn't get it booked in till this coming Saturday & have just gone past the 800 mark... OYB said it's not a problem
Hmm, just found an issue with servicing. I thought the servicing was 7500 or 12 months for the second service. Turns out the 7500 service is 7500 and if you haven't done the miles then the 12 month service is just an oil change etc. Arses!
Why 'arses'? 7.5k or 12 months, whatever is the soonest. If you only do 2k a year then the servicing will be quite cheap. The more you use it the more you pay.
