"the flying brick" K100 RS 16 valve... 100BHP. During the gentleman's agreement early 90's between manufacturers not to go above 100BHP for a motorcycle. And then someone went above... A Japanese mfr... Not Ducati... They were at it again 20 years later... https://www.rideapart.com/news/258915/the-facts-behind-europeaposs-pending-100-hp-motorcycle-limit/
Ventured into the garage today - my, my it’s chilly in there! Tidied up some stuff, put my spare 749R calipers and master cylinder in a box on the shelf. Came in. Put the kettle on.
I know.. ;-) lots of them, bulletproof engines and some nice builds too. So I think at one point this one in original condition will be one of the few originals left, I got it back as I sold it 29 years ago with only 34K miles extra, that's 1100 miles a year, this bike hasn't seen any rain in the last 30 years and slept in a garage for sure. I has been my commuter bike for the first 3 years, rain or shine.. ;-)... oh.. and the full service history... for a BMW... ;-)
Just bought a Christmas present, a Nitron cartridge kit and rear shock for the Monster 937, both modified to replicate the OE lowered springs. Andy
Collected GSXR from local Suzuki guy after a valve check given it’s had a fair few track miles this year. All in tolerance. Bargain winter price too.
Fed up with Oxford Oximisers crapping out on me and frying batteries, bought a NOCO Genius 2x2. Used my Halfords card to buy it and was able to buy 2 more fly leads and still pay less than it would have cost at Amazon. Note - the 2x2 unit comes with 2 sets of crocodile clamp leads however, the clamps are removable and the leads can then be wired direct to one’s battery terminals.
Been a week of laptop and meetings. Decided a clear meeting day plus clear cold day meant a skive this morning. Another sub 80 round. With greens like concrete and so huge comedy bonces on approach shots. Ticketyboo
Started wearing my bike leathers base layers around the house as a normal clothes base layer. Adds to the fun when the Mrs tries to turn the thermostat anti-clockwise. Does this count?
Fitted a throttle spacer. The most expensive bit of plastic (per gram) I’ve ever bought but it seems to have taken up the slack. Would be nice to try it out but it’s too icy to stand up on my drive at the mo so I’ll have to wait….
For what’s it’s worth it worked a treat took all the play out but didn’t cure the bad running at low town speeds which requires switching to rain mode.
