Yawn. Just like the Brits forgot their sense of civility and fair play in numerous colonial actions, such as when they were gunning down Sikh civilians at Jallianwala Bagh or castrating suspected insurgents in Kenya….. It’s usually you gammonati who are constantly bleating about keeping politics out of football, so can we just stick to discussing the World Cup in this thread? Ta
^^^ I sincerely hope you two don't start to turn this post into yet another raft of insults between the pair of you. Rather boring and not just in this thread, but obviously elsewhere. I appreciate that one of you remains undoubtedly the more civil of the two of you, whereas the other, well nothing much else to be said. And before you attempt to take the more positive credit for my thoughts FC, it clearly isn't you. The posts represent the personality........
There is still a World Cup in progress, please no handbags till it’s over, then I need a new interest?
Now its strange you post this...but although I am sure taking the knee position is a noble gesture, I could not help but say to myself this is a distraction the players really don't need at this moment in time. To me it showed a mental weakness/distraction before the ball had been kicked.

FWIW although France have not yet got through, I think Morocco will make france have to run a lot more than Argentina did, in football terms Argentina did not have to expend too much energy , France will have to expend a lot more with a days less recovery. Whatever I think it could be a very good semi and final, getting withdrawal symptoms already.
Not worried about meeting Argentina in the final are you? It’ll be fine you’ve all of the English support behind you , what could possibly go wrong?
