Had a week of this, due to an eye ulcer Now ok thankfully. Vet thinks it may have been caused by him trying to remove the head collar style lead we were using, so now trying different harnesses etc that are supposed to help with pulling ( wife can’t hold the big lump). Probably end up expensive but with a nice collection. Any recommendations for something that stops pulling and ideally ‘bouncing’ as he still gets excited when he sees another dog.
There’s a type of harness with asymmetric reins that sort of twists the dog if they pull, which apparently annoys and therefore deters them from doing it. Pets at Home sell them. I was going to get one for Iggy because so far he’s yanked a phone and a cup of tea out of my hand and it’s only a matter of time before he dislocates my shoulder, but it looked like a right faff to get on the dog, so we just go through the same routine of him pulling and me telling him off every day.
Went with a rabitgoo harness in the end, which pretty much does as you say. Once it was adjusted correctly it’s easy to put on, and seems to do the trick. Doesn’t stop him jumping up and down with excitement when he sees another dog though.
His eye has got bad again, so he’s now booked in for a check under sedation and possibly an operation on Monday. Looking forward to another week or so of ‘house destroying cone head’ fun.
The inevitable has happened. The Igster absolutely loves warmth and despite repeated warnings and words of advice, he likes nothing more than to shove his face as far as he can into the grill of a fan heater. Well, yesterday, I smelled burning hair and turned round to see smoke rising from the daft cvnt’s head and face, as he’d managed to immolate a big clump of his ear fur, his eyebrows and most of his whiskers.
My beautiful loyal and loving best friend is 3 today Birthday treat. One candle for each second that the steak lasted when I gave it to him.
Couple of stitches in his eyelid to help keep his eye open, apparently not properly healed from when he had an ulcer. Vet said he has ‘diamond eye’ and may have to remove a small wedge of skin to correct it. He’s not happy.
Brilliant, second time ive seen that look in his eye and makes me smile every time Happy birthday little one
