Quite a melting pot is Argentina. I’ve never been. Was almost deported there when I was held by immigration in Rio. $200 for a dodgy Yellow Fever certificate got me out of that one.
I can’t recall the exact quote but it’s something like “An Argentine is an Italian who speaks Spanish, thinks he's French, and would secretly like to be British”
I’ve been there as well. They can fucken have it!! Windswept, miserable hole of a place…. Some nice wildlife though
Ooft, controversial… Mrs wants to go to Buenos Aires. I wouldn’t mind having a look myself. Bet it was rocking last night…
Thank fuck its over! Mexico/USA 2026 next and a proper world cup with fighting and drinking and streakers and most importantly mexican waves!!! Edit: although at least it seems rapey ron's got no claim on "GOAT" status anymore, been a bad few weeks for him, bless
Perhaps you are joking about Mac Allister’s roots. He has no connection with Scotland but rather with Ireland.
The famous Bill Shankly once said”football is not a matter of life and death, it’s far more important than that” Watching the celebrations of the Argentine fans would serve to reinforce Shankly’s comment.
Kenneth Dalglish is my footballing hero. For me one of the best Scots who has ever played in England. He is a lovely guy too and adored by Liverpool football fans.
He destroyed Newcastle United, proper ‘dour’ defensive rubbish, made the club a retirement home for knackered LFC players. A decent player, horrible manager. NUFC were so close to winning the league, ran out of steam and handed to MUFCs. Then came Kenny. He then dismantled what was probably the best team to not win the league. Loved by LFC, loathed by NUFC. As an aside, what happened to his son? A half decent player too…
