What's Your Longest Relationship So Far.?

  1. Seen them advertised at 4.5k whether they sold I don't know

  2. Rarity is what makes it more valuable than the standard, as yours appears must have the Flower seat though.
I’ve owned 3 Dax bikes, my first ‘motorbike’ when under 16 used to ride it around a shipping container storage yard where my Dad worked occasionally.
He bought it off his mate who couldn’t ride it 2 up as it wheeled everywhere up so got shot of it.

  3. I feel a bit impetuous reading this thread. Longest I’ve ever owned any bike is three years and a few months. That was a Panigale R. I had my 748r nearly as long. I miss my 748r. But many are here and gone within a year.
Variety is the spice of life after all. o_O

  4. Surely you’ll keep the Bayliss V2 though?

  7. Bought my '94 900SS in July 95 with about 5500 miles on the clock, still loving it after 27 years and more than 65,000 miles.
The '98 SPS is a relative newcomer since it only arrived in April 2005, done about 40,000 miles so far.

  8. My weird keeper bike,…BMW R1100r, bought it new in June 2000 so it’s over 22 years old now and has over 43,000 miles on it and it’s a fekkin hoot !

I’ve got Ohlins shocks on it front and rear, so you wouldn’t believe how well this thing hustles, on a twisty road you’d better have more than a 750 if you want to get past it! :imp:

43,000 miles in all shitey weather and finish is still good as new, built when they used nasty chemicals to keep the paint on it, not the water based stuff they use now, good for the environment, shite for keeping paint on your bike!

Slap the factory luggage on it and you can tour till your heart’s content, it has a kind of “ Thrumm” about it, a heartbeat almost like a mechanical horse, you get the feeling it would run forever if the petrol tank was big enough :D I get the feeling it will do another 43,000 miles piece-a-piss!

Definitely had my £7,500 worth out of it, which is what I paid for it when I bought it new from Allen Jeffries, I went for a GS and came back with this, just made me laugh more when I rode the demo bike.
Yes it’s no looker, but it’s like an ugly dog,….if it’s yours you still love it to bits :joy::joy:

  9. I don't really pay attention to the new bikes that roll of the producation line these days, but don't they've gear indicators,?, if so this was way ahead of it's time.

  10. My first car was a Volkswagen Golf Mk 1 GLS, then followed by two other Golf Gti's, back in the 1980's they're great products.......hopefully they still are.

  11. Like most folk that was my format when i started biking back in the day, but these days things have changed a little for me.
P.s i bet within 5 years that you sold everything and moved onto another bike or brand for that matter.

  12. 43 months my longest, I just get bored looking at the same thing, shortest relationship ...... I’d win hands down..
