  2. Arnage at night for glowing discs and flaming exhausts and Porsche curves for fifty pairs of oncoming headlights on the warm-up. Your ears and nose will overload your already wide open eyes.
Try the pits at five in the morning for fuel, rubber, oil and sweat.
It is quite a party, so don't expect any sleep.

  3. yes indeed, did this several times in the 80's and 90's, when even the fairground was worth a visit.

closest I could find (Emmanuel Collard) - this Toyota (TS020/GT-One) was incredible to watch, and a beautiful car all round.

  4. Is that the Rotary engined Mazda that won Le Mans? Epic car.

  5. 900 hp engine that had to be de tuned to 700 hp I believe.

  6. Blimey..

P.S. - nothing "woke" about this, just a well-respected chap giving his opinion, not twisting anyone's arm to watch - other threads are available. :upyeah:

  7. Only in NY (scooter with jetski body was epic)

  11. I saw that it didn't load for viewing on this Forum but you should be able to tick the "Watch on Youtube" bit Hugo? - it's only Drag Racing from 1961.

  12. Interesting to hear the numbers.

    Odd narrative though? He said:
The UK is not testing and thats the right decision. Follows this with fortunately Italy is testing.
Says that people must stop eating wild animals? We have always eaten wild animals, and are now aiming to introduce more free range animal production -chickens/ eggs , free range pork & beef. But also pheasants, partridge, boar etc.
Worries about variants spreading. How much bigger can the variant risk be? CV19 is everywhere in the world and will be in 50% of the Chinese population within 6 weeks, but that is small compared to the population of the world where its been for two years.
Numbers of people dying in China is less and people can be with their relatives at their demise. Not like the obscene situation in the West. The fatality numbers from China are probably nonsense. People were not allowed to be with their dying relatives in the UK as they would then spread disease which would have subsequently killed others.
Chinese vax works well and Chinese population vax rate is 91% I've never heard said that before. Where do those figures originate?

Checking his background via his own page and google, he seems as qualified to make these presentations as us...

  13. ^ Yes, one person's take, none of us are perfect/none of us can speak 100% for everybody or claim to know all the answers. :upyeah:I'm only guessing, because I don't know but maybe he thought renewed testing in the UK might start a "knee-jerk" reaction again?..

No idea about the "Vax" either.

  14. Its also interesting to wonder whether he is (not maliciously) wanting us to think it all through for ourselves?

Re testing; in the current situation at the NHS, giving them even more work is a non starter both practically and politically.

  16. Though it is entirely fair to say the "capitalism itself is a corrupt economic system" which has been exploited by Vivienne who leaves an estate valued in excess of £50,000,000 with over £18,000,000 in cash.

  17. To be fair and transparent Jez, it would be good to find out what instructions Vivienne left regarding her estate. If you happen to be successful in business, what are you supposed to do in the interests of beating "capitalism" - start sabotaging it?

  18. Thats a good point and time will tell. Though I admit I have my doubts as I think someone who is holding on to so much, at age 81 (very unlikely to need anything) is not so likely to divest into charities now?

But its all by the by as I don't expect rich people nor even incredibly rich people to give up their rewards from life. I just find it hypocritical when some of them vocally bash the system that they are part of and luxuriating in.

  19. agree - a popular local musician comes to mind who "gets right up my nose" in a similar way - would cause an outrage if I named him on here.
