The plastic side panel fairing on my V4S refuses to stay down. I've replaced the velcro but the adhesive that attaches the pad to the panel comes away after a while. Anyone have a cunning fix? Or it's back to the dealer to sort out as they replaced them when the master cylinder leaked fluid over them.
mine are loose too. It seems that the velcro doesn't hold. It doesn't really bother me as they only wobble if you poke em... Oo er missus. One of these days I'll pop them off properly and take a proper look. But I'm sure the dealer will be able to sort in about 30 seconds flat. They'll just whack a load more velcro on there I presume.
Mine are fine. There is a pin on the panel that should push into a tiny grommet mounted on the side of the tank. Check whether or not it is lined up and engaging.
I’ve a 2018 Panigale and this slightly fucked with my OCD. The newer models are anchored with a screw fastener. I’ve replicated this on my bike. If you go for it, accuracy with the drill is key…
They're simple to remove - remove the battery cover, pop off the side panel velcro on top, then pull out the others and lift the panel upwards (it is centred on a pin at the bottom). The problem on mine wasn't the velcro itself coming apart but the back of the velcro pad becoming unstuck from the plastic. This is amplified by the loom that is under this panel applying tension and pushing the panel back out. I *think* I've solved mine by reorganising the loom so that the loom plug is not getting in the way of the panel, relieving some of the tension. I then used a heavy duty 3M double sided sticky foam pad to adhere the back of the velcro pad to the plastic panel. It has stayed in-situ for over a day now which it would never have done prior.
