  1. There are 3 editions of the Senna, not 100% sure but the first launched in ‘94, the second in ‘97 and third in ‘98. Different colour schemes, 1st was grey, 2nd was silver and the 3rd was black. Andy

  2. You could say the same about all the Ducati model range over the decades with their limted numbers and a plaque pinned on the top yoke etc.......

  3. Yes, absolutely correct, you can. My mind immediately springs to the abomination associated with Lamborghini but at least there is a genuine link since, on paper, Lamborghini owns Ducati. Andy

  4. I'd no idea as i thought it was still the Audi group.

  5. I think Lambo is owned by Audi...

  6. That's my understanding as well.

Andy's right though, the "Lamborghini-Ducati" bikes are an abomination!

  7. Chinese puzzles are not my strong point.

  8. I was watching in passing a 5th Gear electric program last night. They had the “new” Lamborghini Countash (however it’s spelt). Basically a rehashed job of another Lambo. Plato said he thought it was just a money spinning exercise by Lambo (Audi) but he loved it anyway. Which is kinda the point n’est ce par?

  9. I watched this and it made me think how much we are seeing this in the bike world now, MV Agusta were the first manufacturer doing this from my recollection, anyone want to guess how many versions there are of the 'MV F3' based bikes... all essentially exactly the same bikes.

  10. sorry if this has been posted before.. but this started at £3k...

I was watching with interest because without a doubt it needs a fair bit of money spent on it, I think the tanks trashed, you can see damage/rust under both sides of the carbon tank protector, the engine paint also looks really really rough, and it's missing some parts around the swingarm for brake pipe routing etc (not a big deal).

I thought it looked like a great light restoration project, with some re-spray, engine out for engine spray and what not, but it's getting quite expensive at nearly £5k with a day to go.

Am I being harsh? I've seen absolutely immaculate showroom 748/748s bikes on there for £6k

  11. I would have bought that but lost any interest once it went over £3.5k.

  12. Yeah, same I think mate, I would have gone to £3750 I think, then stripped it down and got the engine serviced and painted and then built it back up, as a super clean 748s would be lovely in the collection. it's got some odities also though, a Showa rear shock that on one of the right hand side picks you can see a 'SACHS' stamp on the sprint collar, which maybe isn't the end of the world but points to bitsa.

Also it's steadily increasing in bids and has been over the last 4-5 days, makes me think people who work there are doing it, because you'd surely keep your powder dry

  14. Interesting that they have it up with a buy it now price, but ad says it's being auctioned on the 18th Feb. My mate shared the auction site listing with me a couple of weeks back.
Interested to know what they mean by "Thought to be one of only two known to survive in the UK". Spondon made arond 400 of those frames for Ducati's over the years. Most admittedly used for racing.
I have one, but with a 2 valve motor (also built by Steve Wynne) and I have seen another monster styled one in a magazine.
