  6. I reckon the truth of it is that his muscle-bound mate threw him overboard to make the boat lighter so he could outrun the shark.

  7. In case interested and not found on FB, todays update

    Day 18 news for the Atlantic Dragons – 36 % complete, DTF = 1817 nm @ 4pm today
Not much action to report on today, with steady and better progress being made. 53 nm rowed yesterday and the boys are holding position behind the cabbies, not losing any further ground today @ 23 nm behind. Boat speed is better, sea currents are less and morale is excellent. The cleaner boat hull and removal of the dagger board has given them decent speeds – 2.5 + knots and up to 4 knots when https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/atlanticdragons
Conversation overheard yesterday between the boat and a barnacle, with boat saying “I thought you were just a bottom feeder but now you’re starting to grow on me”
And finally the A-Z of appropriate sea slang (Boys need to speed up, I’m going to run out!)
    - Flake out : It was important to keep the anchor chain in good condition. It was regularly laid out on deck – Flaked – to check for weak links. The anchor was often ‘flaked out’ on deck ahead of anchoring. Lying down in the sun on deck became known as ‘flaking out’. Suspect a bit of flaking out on arrival in Antigua
    - Footloose : The bottom of a sail is called the foot and when it is not tied to the boom, it is loose-footed, dancing freely in the wind with no restriction. Are you old enough to remember the original ‘Footloose’ released in 1984 !
Keep supporting and day 19 news on Saturday

  16. They must be totally exhausted though, at this point… Likely getting to the hardest part of the challenge on the physical side of things.

So wishing them super strong mental drive, good winds and good seas for this final stretch! :upyeah::)
