  1. Yours might be the DP ones, Chris.

  2. Just found the receipt...were listed as JHP Corse. They all look the bloody same same to me!

  3. Here’s mine, I know, they’re filthy, the bike’s new to me and undergoing a refurb, they’ll be cleaned up.

You can see the price the original owner paid back in 2002. Harwin Casoli was a London based Ducati specialist at that time - no longer around - as such, I presume they are genuine DP ones of the era

  4. That is interesting. The gear shift mounts are different as Chris suggested. Mine closer:

I changed the rubber on gear change for a less bulbous one.

  5. My DP ones are like that as well. My Migliore ones are on the same shaft as the footpeg and I think most are like that, no doubt in a bid to make it possible to only produce one footpeg holder to fit both sides.

  6. Your gearshift lever is mounted on the rearset, it appears to be a single bolt which secures the lever to the foot peg mount to the frame. Mine is mounted beneath and to the rear of the foot peg mount thus reducing the distance between footpeg and gear lever rubber. Perhaps explains why I found it so difficult to get my toe in to change up gear when I first rode it. I’ll be playing around with the positions anyhow.

  7. I’ve also just spotted my chain’s rusty :(, another job on the list

  8. The gear change bolt goes through into the lower mount hole and there is an alloy mushroom shaped spacer in there.

  16. Interesting read.

I have seen a Cagiva Racing 1994 rear set sold on ebay.
My 95 916 Racing has a similar looking rear set and Cagiva stamped on the rubber.

Slightly different to the pictures posted in this thread, but I think the origin was Cagiva Racing which then became DP in 1995 and onwards?

Pictures from 1994-1995 shows Ducati Factory bikes had similar looking rear sets.

Ebay - Cagiva Racing 1994 (note that the gear lever is attached to the rear set):

    Chili #27 1995 bike:

My 916 Racing is a PF Chili 95 wsbk bike, so "the mystery of the rear sets" is just one thing out of many, which I am trying to learn more about.

  18. Another observation is that each foot peg on my bike is solid = 1 metal piece incl. the foot of the peg.
Back in mid 90's this process would have demanded a rather large piece of metal to start out with. After rotational milling it would have to to go in a vertical milling machine to cut the foot shape? (milling "scars" suggests a 2 way process).
