First Trackday! Silverstone 9th August! !

  1. Some of the riding was just dangerous! Found it hard to have any sympathy for the idiots who dive up the inside just as you tip in for the apex,and a few corners later are rolling thru the gravel.would like to think its a lesson for them,but I have my doubts.was just astonished that no limits make no attempts to manage it.almost seem un interested despite two out of every three sessions being red flagged.never seem to get the same issues on foreign track days.roll on September.

  3. We were in inters and fast group was as bad.they had people off in first session of the day! Still when you've trashed yer bike, may make you think twice about riding beyond your ability.dont get me wrong every one makes mistakes but some of the riding was pure shite.

  4. It doesnt. Tbh one or two sessions at Anglesey were a bit like that, and all I could do to keep race head off ie you try and punt me off and I WILL punt you off mentality, came in and thru pits cple times. Big diff with NL is if you go have a whinge they tend to take notice and do something
     
  5. Last trackday I did was like this organised by FE. I really don't know why they take more serious action on some of the azzhole riders. Some of the tools in the advanced group were complete wankers. Undertaking where they were forcing other riders to sit up while in a corner, stupidly late braking causing them to run off etc... They think they are moto GP class, when really they still need stabilisers!
     
  6. Sounds about right! As I said you don't seem to get this on foreign track days.probably because the whole event is more relaxed, your on track for three or four days,and people are less inclined to want to ruin there holiday by riding like a twat.hence the reason I'm off to almeria next month same as last year.
     
  7. Only done one but cant agree enough. Miss a session, come in early, who cares?! Thats why I like doing back to back days, like Snett in a couple of weeks, because its the same for me.
     
  8. I've done many track days with both FE and NL in UK & Spain, they are both excellent, you'll love it. My main advice is to keep hydrated, lots of water & eat small amounts of food during the day rather than a large lunch.

    Remember to enjoy yourself, it is a trackday not a race meeting, relax & breath. Don't worry what is behind you and keeep your lines smooth. You will only start to feel comfortable after about 4 sessions, then you will wonder why you were so nervous to start with.

    Go to the tyre chap and he will sort out your tyre pressure. Colin from 100% suspension is often there, it will be money well spent.
     
  9. Tape over your mirrors, keep drinking water between sessions, don't feel you have to go out every single session. I did my first trackday with the UK Monster Owners Club at Mallory Park a couple of years ago. I think there were 7 sessions during the day, and I found my confidence and skill build over sessions 1 to 5, but in the 6th it was plateauing - I was getting worse not better, so I didn't go out in the 7th session. Still felt I'd got my value for money, and was glad to end on a high note, rather than risk going out tired and making a painful/expensive mistake.
