Hi, It's been a while since my last Ducati, I'm now considering another one, hence I'm here. The forum looked a lot different back then. I just missed a Streetfighter advertised by Potteries Motorcycles last week, wondering if someone on here got it? Now looking possibly for a Hypermotard 950, there are a couple of nice ones around, waiting to hear about some bids, so we'll see. Prices seem all over the place on bikes, especially for winter. Other considerations are 890R or 1290R KTM's, they seem ok, but the sense of ownership with a Ducati is much higher. I don't ride a lot these days, but I don't mind some tinkering in the garage. Just let some classics go and a Tuono V4 will hopefully will go this week. Hopefully, things work out and I'm on this forum more often. A pic of my last 1098. I don't think I could get my knees up that high any more! Cheers Kev
Welcome from another 'ampshire dweller. Hope you find the right Duc if that's what you're after. Know the problem of not getting your knees up
My mate has a hyper 950 used to own a 790 which isn’t that far removed from the 890, the 950 is the better bike for his needs. Which is a bit of B road scratching and longish distance trips on A roads, he also has a 2021 v4 Tuono which is his Sunday best.
Welcome. Hyper is a good fun bike with low pegs. Streetfighter is aspects bike with high bars so also high pegs
Hi I took the Tuono v4 for an MOT yesterday prior to selling it and my hips hurt like hell. Hope to size up an 890, 1290 and a hyper 950 this week. I just need the most comfortable! Last Hyper I sat on 1100 I think? Was uncomfortable, it felt all wrists and balls pressure, hoping the 950 is better and good on hips!
I’m 6’2, old and fatter than I was I’ve managed all manner of bikes over the years. Until recently, I’d never even had a twinge in my hips, thought it was odd when my old schoolmate mentioned his. Mines brought on by golf lately. Couldn’t believe the pain, though recovered quickly. I plan to bust out a mat and do some exercises. I do have a dodgy knee after two miniscus ops. Don’t get old, fatter or unfit or you will be banished to tall, narrow bikes!
I get lots of groin strain at the mo from golf. As well as tennis elbow. And what feels like carpal tunnel syndrome as I struggle gripping sometimes. And people say golf is an easy pastime and not a sport….
