  5. Never been.
Had no interest in road racing whatsoever until itv4 started broadcasting the event.
Looks fantastic on tv so I can only imagine what's it like to be standing so close to the road as they flash by.

  6. It's absolutely astonishing, you really must go, it's like nothing else on earth.

  9. Living on the wrong side of the world, I've literally got shelves of IOM video's and DVD's, absolutely love it, would be a dream come true to stand track side and meet some of those guys. I've often got something playing in the VCR/DVD player as I'm pottering away in the shed. But it's funny, even after hours, (days) watching this stuff over the years, if you haven't seen it for a wee while, you see/hear some of the footage and the hairs on the back of your neck stand up and you find yourself with a crazy grin on your face. How many other things do that to a person?

  13. Mad Sunday had changed somewhat over the years anyway. The Simon Andrews lap sanitised things quite a lot. Back in the 90's and the 00's it really lived up to It's name, it were bonkers, great fun but mad as a box of frogs.

That's back in the day when there were a lot more unlimited speed areas. These days it's 30mph or 50mph for most of the course up to the gooseneck and only unlimited over the mountain, it didn't used to be like that. Rightly or wrongly it has changed the amount of accidents. I recall many many pile ups on the west side of the course back in the day, which is rare nowadays.

The extra race days are ok with me these days, maybe not when i were mad (as the Sunday) when tearing about was just as important to me as watching the racing. Yes, I'm one of the nutters that got up at the crack of dawn to leave my brain in the tent and ride without watching the speed limits (they're weren't any out of towns). Great fun but it makes my toes curl now.

I'll take my hyper, watch the racing and move around to different places as I've got more race days, more races and i can come and go from spots where I'm not trapped.

In truth, if you want to go to the island to watch some racing and enjoy some riding then go to the manx. I take a bike to both, the TT is transport, the manx is fun riding.
