  3. Looks nice.
But… traction control and 4 power modes on an 80 hp IL4?

  4. Don't worry about them. Think of free revivng to 15000rpm

  6. Sounds fun to me but I'd need to be 30kg lighter

  7. The Kawasaki would need to lose 40. A bike with 80hp needs to be 150kg or less.

  8. Heavy is probably the only critique, but I'm SO glad another manufacturer is sticking their hat in the ring to make something that sits in the lower capacity range that's got something about it.

I think it will be good fun to ride, agreed weight might be it's downfall, the Aprilia RS660 is still the one I'd choose, it's 5KG lighter, and makes 100HP, although I imagine the engines a bit characterless compared to the ZX4.

I've had 2x ZXR4000's back in the day so this does tug at the heart strings a tiny bit.

  9. Wonder how much the exhaust weighs?

  10. Did Al Millyard knock those up for you?

  11. hahaha no, but he does live near where I grew up, clever man..

    My bad... 400's...

  12. I had an original zxr400, think they were about 160kg and 60-70hp?

Do they still spec bikes as “dry weight”?

I know they have a lot of extra tech on them now and more plastic with strategically hidden fasteners and so increase the HP to compensate but I prefer the Colin Chapmans philosophy of adding lightness.

  14. I used to have a lovely Honda 400/4 back in the day. It weighed 178 kg (392 lb) (with 1 imp gal) and produced around 40hp at a dizzying 8500rpm
    Lovely exhausts though.

  15. KHI living up to their name.

  16. Jesus my Hyper weighs less than that...

  17. tbf the original zxr400 was designed in the 80’s!!

  18. Yeah but, this is/should be a redesign?....theyre not gonna stick a plate on a rebuilt 80's bike...

  19. I thought they were heavier at 200kgs? But its always so hard to know as the reports rarely state if they are wet/ full tank or manufacturers dry weight.
