  2. They will have the same api to the database that insurance companies do (and we’ve all been a little surprised by their valuations!) , it’s all automated and “exotic” bikes don’t stand a chance with your valuation v theirs.
As I said though if you want a quick sale on a bog standard bike and you’re honest with what you’re handing over, you won’t have much bother.

I don’t know why people grumble really it’s like taking your bike to a pawn brokers lol (not aimed at you cookster)

  6. Just an update...since receiving their first offer (we buy any bike) and not responding to it, i have had a couple more emails and their offer has been upped each time, they are now offering £700 more than their first offer!...still haven't responded to any of their emails, but if they increase it to a grand more than they originally offered i just might go for it.

  7. Further update - after receiving numerous emails/texts etc from them over recent weeks their offer finally increased to just under a grand more than they originally offered, however, last week on a decent day i took it for its first ride of the year and enjoyed it so much i've decided to keep it!...so the moral is don't respond to their offers for a while and see if they hike the price up :D:upyeah:

  8. I think the real moral of the tale is that you should never EVER sell a motorcycle and instead just keep buying more of them until you have one for every conceivable occasion.

  9. Isn't WBAB part of Superbikefactory.co.uk ?

  10. Not sure, but they really do lowball in my experience, though they also sell cheaper than elsewhere. I got the impression when they contacted me about a bike I had for sale that they rely on folk desperate for cash. I wasn't, and was offered and got 25% more from a different trade buyer a week later (which was still a low price for a pristine bike, but not unmerciful)

  11. When i made enquiries about selling my bike to WBAB they did ask whether I wanted contact from Superbike factory - I declined, so I think there could be a chance that they are linked.

  12. Yes they are directly linked - the bike I sold did end up in SBK Factory

  13. The guys who come around your house are paid a commission on how far under the quoted value they can get your bike bought, this means you are likely to see some inconsistency beginning to end of month and also between reps.

  14. Yep spot on - First guy was a decent bloke, know he was on sales team side, but at least took time to explain what was going on and made me feel like he was also prepared to meet me in the middle/chat about things.

The other was a tool from the start, think he thought I was desperate to sell so about 3 mins in knew I was wheeling it back in the garage, 20mins of my life later did just that!
