  4. I can’t handle the middle dial being used for anything other than speedo, otherwise nice.

Here’s my old 2006 Checkmate the day I picked it up.

  10. I’ve debated one of these as a track car for a few years now

Have spent many a day behind the wheel of them over the years. Mega little cars.

proud moment in the apex mini below making Monners feel sick :upyeah:

    R53 Cooper S (2005)
    17% reduced lightweight pulley.
    Larger intercooler.
    Air intake kit.
    Uprated injectors, plugs, leads etc.
Full engine rebuild last year (incl various bits polished and balanced)
    LSD.
    Poly bushes all round.
    Drilled and grooved discs.

Not mad keen on the boring silver paintwork so I’d like to get it wrapped at some point.

  13. Not mine, it is my wife's car, 2004 R53 here in South Australia - a fun car to drive when I'm allowed to! (reckons I thrash it too much :astonished: )

  16. Ambitious comes from the pants.!

  17. Lady Nasher is on her third BMW Mini now, and has loved them all.
It also gives me something completely different to drive than my Landy.

She's had this 19 plate Cooper Works edition since Jan 2020, it was a demonstrator and has, touch wood, been great.

The only issue we find is due to it being a Works Edition, as it has very stiff suspension with very little travel, so can be a bit of a harsh ride at times, and with the wrong brand of tyres can be very noisy.
I can't remember exactly what they were, but we put a set of Avons on the front and it and it made a noise like the Tardis appearing all the time.
I swapped them to the back with the worn Michelins going on the front and it was back to normal. I've seen this reported online with different tyre brands.

She is starting to make noises about an Electric Mini, as she mainly just uses it for her 15m commute, and we could easily charge it at home, so we'll have to see.

Note in this image the back seats are permanently down as Toby the dog doesn't fit in the back otherwise.

  18. Mine has stiff suspension and you can feel every bump i quite like it though as it sticks to corners like blue tac :D

I use Falkens I don't notice any road noise

  19. Here’s my two. When I got the first one, the new Italian Job was out at the cinema, so the dealer arranged about 20 of us go and watch it at the local Odeon, with a cordoned off area of the car park right by the door. Was great fun.

The 2011 JCW was a brilliant little car.

  20. Yep, they do run quite stiffly suspension wise and certainly transmit any road irregularities back to you! (not as harsh as my Subaru STI on coil overs and 18” rims with 35 profile tyres tho)

My wife’s also has Falken tyres on it - don’t use run-flats tho.
