I can find no info in the manual. Is it sorted by the DES? I would like to go manual and have my suspension more adjustable. Also more tailored to me, so I'll be buying a softer rear spring and changing to Flat rate. TBH, I never warmed to the DES.
I figured it was the blue hex, but just wanted to ask as theres quite a bit of knowledge on this forum from track day guys which I lack. I didnt want to start messing without asking the dumb question. My next is that I believe it is a 32mm and I would like to purchase a propriety spanner to adjust this. I would also like to do so without marking the blue anodizing. What tool would someone recommend for this? I have bought ohlins hook spanners for rear from BG Motorsport.
Just wrap the “nut” in one turn of masking tape or use a paper towel in the socket. The adjuster should not be overly stiff to turn.

A socket and paper towel is all you need or even an adjustable spanner and masking tape. Don’t overthink it

All the suspension gurus I have seen at work use a standard socket with a plastic bag over the nut to prevent marking it.
If 32mm you’re talking about is rider sag, 30-40 (about 1/3rd travel) normally a good start. If it’s like skyhook, I preferred mine on the softer side, ie nearer 40, as the electronics kind of add firmness to comp and it made the ride a little choppier IME.
The Ducati part number for the socket tool is 887134338 - I’m guessing it’s a dense Nylon socket rather than metal. Ktech do a 32mm plastic wrench - which is a cheaper option but I can see clearance being an issue https://store.ktechsuspension.com/tool-front-fork-top-cap-spanner-32mm--plastic--113-010-232.html A normal deep 32mm socket would do the job though and the cheapest option if you already have one. Depending on the clearances I would line it with a single layer of insulation tape to protect the fork top.
Do you have the 1299S workshop manual @bootsam ? This is the page concerning fork preload - seems I’m right in guessing that the tool isn’t metal. If you don’t have the manual I will post a link.
