916 916 Sp3 #098

  1. If you want to give the calipers some TLC get them Cerakoted (you can have the current colour matched if needs be), then ceramic coat them afterwards, that will keep all but the most persistent dirt and brake dust from sticking to them. Lovely looking bike BTW.

  2. Incredible weather today down here, dry, sunny and getting warmer. So I went out for a nice ride with the 916 and took advantage of the light to take a couple of pics which I’d like to share.

  4. This bike will be exposed on a dedicated Tamburini stand next weekend at the Salon moto in Lyon. I gave it a good clean, and couldn’t resist taking a few detailed pics.

  8. All right! I didn’t realize 888 SP4’s came with white frame and lettering. :upyeah:

  9. Just having a read and would like to know if the 916 sp tail unit was exactly the same for sp2-3 unit including number board/decals and also 916 sps?

  10. I think they were different paint schemes IMG_5823.png The 94SP Is different to the rest here’s a pic of the one I have.

  12. Thanks chaps
Would this one be general one or for a specific model 748-916 s-sp?
Different to the above photos where the red starts to straighten out ? has the decal on the lower edge with words and the Italian flag.

  13. The SP3 seat is as it was when delivered, also has the edging logo (words/flag) on the lower edge of the unit. I don't know for other models and I asume that all SP3 models would look similar but I don't know for sure... so not much help there then! o_O

  14. My SP3 (1996) tail unit is exactly like the one shown by @KevB.

  15. @Steve Robins

Mr R, would you have some pics of these wheels, both on and off your 851?

    Cheers!

  16. I was finally able to source a #57 chip (« standard 916 SP ») for my 916 SP3. 63FB9368-D1BE-4280-AD2B-450CA95FDC9B.jpeg

At the moment, I have #56 on the bike (45/45 916 SP) and #58 (« 50/50 916 pista ») in a box. As the big desmo service is coming up this winter (reaching 12.000 km), I will be able to test #57 after setting the valves and the injection. Thinking about going the MBP way on this one too. Looking at LT Snyder’s kits.

    Yum yum! :D

  17. Awesome find an and a good read! Congrats the bike is lovely!

  18. Have a spare set just in case... given the shenanigans I thought had with the 888 ECU I like to have a fallback plan for the old girl so a full ECU set! :):upyeah:

  19. @KevB That’s pretty cool!
Have you tried both? Any difference you’d be aware of?
