Securing Panigale To Trailer

  1. I strap from the stillage anchor rings through the callipers avoiding any front or rear suspension compression. Once wrapped in clingfilm the bike is remarkably stable. It might be a two to three thousand mile trip on the lorry.

@ibgarrow If it's a short journey to the dealer, I wouldn't worry about compressing the forks.

  2. Thanks Paul. It’s now a debate whether I’ll need to trailer the Panigale, as I’ve replaced the water pump myself (see other thread, and saved myself over £750). I serviced it at the same time, all bar the computer check, so possibly the trailer will just need to accommodate my Hypermotard and Beta 270 trials bike…

  3. Your problem is your trailer is really not right for your Pani or Hyper. Your front chock needs the hinged rear section and the front part is not vertical enough. As @Cream_Revenge illustrates, you need wide attachment points to fasten the front wheel. The rear just needs a strap round the rear wheel and channel.
I tried the "wrong trailer" method once..... it didn't end well.

  4. Yes. The front restraint is something I am looking at. It has corrosion leaving sharp edges at the moment. The new bar across the front, however, will rectify the fastening issue.

  5. Can’t weld fin air…
