Got Myself A Tuono Factory

Discussion in 'Other Bikes' started by ResB1299, Feb 23, 2023.

  1. So, I managed to bag myself a 2019 Aprilia V4 factory. It’s got a fair few miles on the clock but is in surprisingly good condition. It’s has a few mods, such as the Akrapovic slip-on and some fairly nice Ilmberger Carbon but unfortunately, although it’s a 2019 bike it doesn’t have the electronic suspension. Not sure it’s needed to be fair on the basis the smile induced from the intoxicating noise and my ride earlier in the week still remains on my face today. What a great piece of kit this is.

Having said all this of course and possibly being accused of being a bit fickle insofar as bikes are concerned sometimes it hasn’t stopped me swapping it for a later model. My budget wouldn’t stretch to the new MY23 model which I do prefer if I’m honest, but what the hell I’m 55 this year and still as impatient as 5 year old. If you’ve not grown up by the time you’re 40, I understand you don’t have to.

    Anyway, get one.

  2. How long do you expect your licence to last... :)

  3. As long as your licence lasts as long as your alternator, regulator rectifier system you'll be ok! Two of my mates have them. One went within 3 months and was fixed under warranty. The other went after a year.

  4. Great bikes. But not for me. I just couldn’t get on with mine despite all its brilliance. It went after 3 months and 1000 miles.
I am a sports bike nut though to be honest.
Enjoy it and ride safe (and loud).

  7. I reckon if I had summat like that I'd lose more than me licence after cocking past some unmarked rozzers at massive speeds in the midst of a fantastic rush of adrenalin & wild hilarity...

  8. [resist] I must be sensible, I must be sensible, I must be...[resist]

  9. Had a Tuono and it was fantastic. I did have some quality issues; seeping fork seals, broken fairing plastics and some minor mechanical issues, but it was a blast to ride. And sounded great.

Have mine two years with zero issues.
One of the best bikes Ive owned.
Suspension set up is important , and make sure valve checks are on time and done by competant mechanic.
    You,ll love it

  15. Reliability? My 2022 s1000rr is awaiting its third recall. Granted it’s not failed me but the latest recall if for a brand new camshaft.

  17. 2nd that on the valve checking - (RSV4 owner now for the last 12 years or so) - ive got the old mental one with no electronics. No plans to sell it...valve check before the next TT - its a toss up this year between the RSV and the hyper...if y'dont it will become hard to start and then the top end will detonate....could be at tick over, could be caning the shit out of it...you'll never know, until you do!

  18. So did a bit of digging with regard the valve checking. Basically I’m being told, £250 to check, then £85.00hr plus shims to adjust and it usually takes a day. So, £1,000 should do it then. Eek….

  19. About the same as many of the desmo engines maybe?
