Come on then fight fans. Who’s your money on? I think Tommy will have too much for him but the comedy side of me would like to see him (Tommy) duffed. What says you??
There's usually something I find intensely irritating about YouTube sensations, and Jake Paul is no exception so hopefully Fury plants him on his ass in short order.
He kind of is now. Formerly a YouTuber but he’s apparently been quite serious about boxing for the last couple of years.
One would think Fury would have him out in round 1. But that won’t sell many tickets and sort out the betting syndicates…. Same as the merryweather vs the Irish thug ufc geezer…clearly fix from the first punch
I hope and expect Tommy to win. This is just a nonsense social media contrived match to make millions $$$s
And they will get top 50 rankings with one of the boxing boards. Imagine how that feels for the guys who have spent a few years at amateur then are trying to make a living as pros. All that said though, I’m team Tommy.
My eldest boy is in that position now and he said much the same thing. He’s paid his dues and would be happy with no notice undercard fights for £500 a pop, but being a big gob YouTuber lets you jump the queue. Fury should walk it as his power and accuracy will be a class above what Paul has been used to and though former MMA fighters are nails, the tend to be one dimensional head hunters whereas Fury will work the body and come at him from all angles. However, unless he’s a good actor, Fury seems genuinely affronted and angry that he is being challenged by a Johnny Come Lately imposter and tbh, if he doesn’t put him to sleep in a round or two then he’ll look a bit of a fool, so he might lose his discipline, come out swinging and leave himself open to getting caught by a lucky punch.
Mayweather is also fighting a reality tv star this weekend. How I would love to see someone give him a good hiding, and all the better if it’s some newbie mug. Unfortunately, they seem to get on really well together so that’s unlikely. https://talksport.com/sport/boxing/1341210/aaron-chalmers-geordie-shore-floyd-mayweather-fight/amp/
I don't disagree and it must be irritating for guys like your son. Still on the flipside this fight and Jakes previous ones, have introduced boxing to many more young people than any others I can think of.
Neither are really boxers. I’ll watch it though for the lols. Edit: boxing is a joke these days and it has been for some time.
I think there's some very good boxers around and some great fights over the last few years. However on this particular fight this quote could sum it up: Flores (Jake Paul's manager) said: "I'm behind him all the way and we're going to ride this thing out as long as it goes."
Just been watching some clips of Tommy Fury. And I hope for his sake he’s improved a bit. He didn’t look too hot. Definitely vulnerable to a right hand or two. Certainly not a patch on his big brother. That said, I’m not convinced Jake Paul is all that either.
Neither are boxers? I wouldn’t say that to either of their faces! You could see Fury using his experience to ride out a few rounds, hurting him a few times and finishing the bout around the 6th. Fury will want to hurt him. But Paul has a punch in him, a big one. In addition to this, he’s got endurance too. Half of his fights have gone the distance. The bookies have got it level, I’m the same for what it’s worth. I’m quite looking forward to finishing the weekend whilst watching, what has become, a big fight.
I boxed for years as a kid and through my teenage years into my early 20’s. I know it’s easy to be an armchair expert, it’s not easy to box, nobody is saying that. In professional terms, they’re shite. Jake isn’t actually bad for a dude from YouTube though to be fair to him.
