Fair enough if you’re watching it on an illegal stream in some kind of weird rubber necking type way but if you actually pay £20 to watch these two turbo helmets embarrass the sport you probably need to seek some kind of professional help. Imo.
No arguments there, but £20 spent on two or three hours with Boy No.2 discussing the finer points of this bout is money well spent.
Neither would I to be fair. Unless we were talking with a phone and facing each other through bullet proof glass like in one of those American prisons. You could flick the V’s and everything then….
You could say that about Jake Paul, but though Fury didn’t have the greatest amateur career and though since turning pro he’s only fought guys to pad out his record, he’s been boxing for 12 years, be won the northern regional championships and got to the final in the nationals as an amateur. He’s also had access over the longer term to top class trainers and sparring partners. I’ve seen most of his fights - he throws fast, accurate, powerful combos, and although he’s not the finished article, he’s got the fundamentals. On the other hand, Jake Paul has only fought other You Tubers and middle aged retired MMA guys or basketball players. Even then, he’s looked a bit wooden and clumsy at times and often overbalances, especially when throwing uppercuts.
Off topic , I know ...... completely different weight class etc. .... but your comment made me think of the Japanese guy Naoya Inoue ( you've probably seen him in action ) . Stunning speed and accuracy , and his body shots are lethal !
I saw one of his fights a couple of years back, which I remember because he kept putting the guy down with merciless liver shots. I just watched a highlight reel on You Tube and he is pretty special.
Mayweather. A bit of a bell end but probably the most rounded boxer I’ve ever seen. Not the most exciting boxer to watch but by Christ, he was hard to hit. Made Canelo and Pacquiao look a bit ordinary. And those two are far from ordinary.
Unfortunately, Pac-Man was carrying a shoulder injury when he fought Mayweather or the result might well have been different.
I’m watching the build up and Jake Paul is now calling out Carl Froch. He must have a death wish because although he might have a puncher’s chance against Fury, Froch would destroy him and the best he could hope for is that it’s quick, rather than a drawn out dismantling that leaves him with CTE
Tbf I noticed Froch gobbing off at JP this week. I thought it was a bit odd. But maybe this celeb boxing is a good way to a quick buck…
Speaking of which, I was just watching their pre-fight sit down and looking at the acne on Jake Paul’s face, I wonder if he’s juicing
Split decision!?!? Fury outclassed him but it didn’t look emphatic. Paul didn’t disgrâce himself and he’s definitely improved- much less flat footed than in previous fights. My boy had a tenner at 6/1 on Fury winning on points, so he’s happy.
