  1. I have a stock ‘94 900ss that I swore would stay that way but since joining you all here I’m beginning to buckle with that one

  3. @Roadtrip - Here you go, just been messing about in the garage; ordered a new paddock stand the other week, plus a pair of new bobbins whilst I was at it >>

  4. Nice bike, nice thread. Keep us posted about this bike, it’s good to read about it.

Interesting to read about the mid range and it’s use on the road. That’s what I miss about my old ST4

  5. Thanks Spenny
A mod i will be doing, Nice bobbins.

  6. Spenny_b, please don't strap any Ducati in the back of a van on it's side stand.

The attachment of the stand to the engine means a whole world of pain if there is any damage done.

  7. must admit I’m feeling the pull of the force fella

  8. And also 'remind' your MOT person not to use the side stand as a pivot to lift the front and rear wheels off the ground to check bearings/play etc. as that can put a lot of load on the point the side stand attaches to the crankcase.

  9. My 1993 900SS is in having its carbs fettled with Steve Jordan in Surrey. A fair few coughs and splutters which turned into bangs and running on one cylinder. Having the carbs stripped, cleaned and sorted. New plugs and a fork service. Just in time for some nice weather I hope.

  10. There was far more tension on the RH side, the ones you see in the pic were there just taking the tension and preventing any movement. That's why the front wheel was parked into the corner of the van, to also reduce any movement (I know about the stand being mounted on the engine, ta)

If I ever see anyone moving any of my bikes like that, they'll get a swift and hard kick in the bollocks

  11. Nice! Yep, I'll probably take my forks and shock to Steve as well; I took the 748R suspension there early last year, did a good job, but I also hear good things about HM Racing and also BG and of course Baines up at Silverstone (and conveniently I go past Silverstone every month on business)

  13. Hi guys. I'm just starting out on my re-build (1997 carby SS) , I've got some rusty forks and wondering whether to replace or repair . The bike looks amazing with those Marchesini wheels , do they fit straight on the stock forks/swing arm? Which ones please.

  14. Hey get a rebuild thread up so we can follow your progress and you have your own thread to look back over :)

  15. A well-preserved SL is my grail bike really so I caught up with this thread with interest. A very cheering post / thread; what a great outcome. Any machine with a Baines pedigree is perfect.
