I have the itch to add another Ducati to the Panigale R and Hypermotard SP. There’s a 749R but it’s 23000 miles, and import and NO service history. Opinions? I don’t want to be left (or those inheriting my estate) with a poor saleable prospect.
As has been discussed on here, it’s unlikely to be a significant investment in terms of providing a return. Mileage isn’t horrific, but coupled with it being an import (with no history), I’d pass. There will be another.
it has been discussed on here in the Ebay thread I think; general consciences was that it's okay mileage wise but not in terms of an investment, so for a trackday bike then yes, but as an investment deffo not.
Give it an eyeballing. Buy on condition. Is the service history (or lack of) reflected in the price??
It has more potential for draining your wallet now, than after you’ve shuffled off this mortal coil. If you have an itch and you can afford it (or you can negotiate a more acceptable price), get it bought. Enjoy it whilst you can. Andy
749Rs are a bit special so I would look for much lower mileage, proper service history and great condition. The next buyer after you will expect no less.
