P1 starts in half an hour if anyone's interested (cue the F1 is dull as fk shouts ) Ferraris were looking quite quick last week at the test but its got to be the fat tongued dutchmans to lose hasnt it?
I'm a lot more interested in F1 than I was a few years ago, but not enough to pay for a SkyF1 pass, partly because Sky seems to have stuck our package up to something silly like £180 a month now... But I'll see bits on the Youtube channels I guess. I don't like Alonso particularly but seems Aston have a better car this year, however it could well be that Mclaren have taken such a step back, that it looks like the Aston is better than it is, and actually it will be the big three teams again
Just as I finish Drive to Survive, the season starts. It's great the way that works. Be nice for George 63 to have a good season and beat LouLou 44 again. Hope Nando and Checo do well but Verstappen is the number 1 and favourite. Ferrari will need a new way to F up again now Mateo has gone.
Not much to take from the daylight session for obvious reasons but i thought their car looked ok on the mediums earlier.
Former massive F1 fan, travelled the world to watch races in the Schumacher era but since the Sky takeover more a "If I am passing" fan these days but try and keep up. I am a Ferrari fan through and through so as long as they win I'm happy - which on average form from recent years is not likely but do think LeLerc has the potential given the right kit. Just be nice to see him in the mix come end of the year even if doesnt win it. Generally day 1 is always hard to read on first race weekend of the year as no one seems to show their hand and turn the wick up till qualifying, add in the fact the Bahrain track is a but unusual makes it harder to read (Few times a team has done well there and gone on to show not that competitive at most other tracks)
All the early tracks are outliers, we won't know where we stand until April or May. But that won't stop me confidently speculating.
He is a great driver, the things he did with the really rubbish Ferrari in his first season there there were nothing short of a miracle so never rule the old dog out yet
I am a dedicated Ferrari fanboy - hell I even own two of the things (classics rather than moderns) - but I am still quite depressed over how Ferrari have managed to squander so much talent particularly in the likes of LeClerc. A friend of mine used to be head of their hardware (electronics) design department but their internal politics ousted most of the non-Italians. I think Matteo was actually a positive influence particularly in the way he acted as a barrier insulating the team staff from the whims, noise and influence of the press and upper-level management. In a fair world arseholes like Christian Horner would not be as successful as they are - but that is not reality. Same goes for the other RB tosspot - Helmut Marko. Not at all sure what to make of Aston Martin - for sure the son of the owner wouldn't be driving the car but for abject nepotism. I'd love to see Williams find their way back to the top - or the midfield at least - but suspect that isn't going to happen anytime soon. Ohh - I ran out of enthusiasm entirely for F1 so I'm going back to pondering WSBK and WSSP - until MotoGP starts up again anyway.
Sure - I'll take a couple of pics tomorrow. One is a Ferrari 308 gtb "vetroresina" which I've modified for hillclimbing (buggered the value but that's life) - the other is a 550 Maranello FHP which is a total mile-muncher
Get yourself an Amazon fire stick , a vpn & an IPTV subscription ( around £60 annually ) ..enjoy as much Sky F1 as you like
Currently very much in the news as Sky representatives and Police officers raid domestic premises in a bid to crackdown on illegal streaming. Obviously that’s the UK press so no idea how true/widespread it actually is. Andy
Maybe that’s what the police are busy doing when they are no longer available to respond to reports of crimes and incidents, or follow them up in a reasonable timeframe.
