  1. Can anyone suggest a slightly sexier clutch cover to replace this monster?

  2. Someone on hear will have one in a draw I expect. Post in the wanted section.

  3. They are a real personal taste thing aren't they?

I've managed to find used unbranded ones that I like on Ebay for my other projects, but just couldn't find anything I liked for the 999, so, like lots of other parts on the bike, ended up with an NHM one:

  4. I like the jhp covers

  5. I prefer OEM as they protect the clutch when the bike goes on its side. Plus it keep the racket down.

  6. ^^^ @bootsam is correct for a track bike. Protection wise go stock or stronger (Titanium).

  9. As recommended by Jeff Baines. He can get you a steel cover rather than alloy if you really need it :p

  10. I know Ducabike do carbon ones for the 998 so I’m guessing they do a 999 version

  11. They look nice but as much use as tits on a man in a low side. You’re likely to be adding a new slipper clutch to your shopping list after a venture into the kitty litter…

  12. yes they do and i have one. its a lovely think and it will go on my road only 749s 'nero'

  13. I have a magnesium one from a SF1098 if you're interested?

  14. If you go OEM, use a couple of small washers inbetween cover and casing to create a vent gap. Gets rid of all the detritis which can make your clutch graunch. Dont know if 'graunch' is actually a word, but for me its the noise it can make when pulling away in 1st sometimes.

  15. It’s a word. A word describing my wife parking my car in town. When a pristine diamond cut alloy wheel meets the kerb….

  16. It’s definitely a word, my daughter did the aforementioned learning to drive in my car. Albeit according to her it was my fault for not telling her

  17. E5F1DFA0-2D86-428C-9F49-D6D7FC4E92EE.jpeg This DP carbon cover adorns both my 916 and 998 and I absolutely love it. It looks sexier than Monica Bellucci in a nuisette (I hope she never reads this… ) and allows increased clutch ventilation for both heat & dust. However, as mentioned above, it offers zero protection, should the bike go on its right side, and will let water and road muck get in. I have put stainless steal springs and very rarely ride on wet roads (bikes are weekends only type gigs for me) so no issues so far.

To get both protection and ventilation, I would use this, even though I find it as sexy as a German ww2 bunker… :eyes::scream:
In fact I have one of these. My mind says « Slap it on the 916 and call it a day! », as it is period correct. But my heart keeps going « fcuk no! »…
