2012 1199s In A Carbon Frock

  1. I don't think I posted many updates when changing the bike from it's original red to it's current look but here's a better late than never thread to capture the ongoing life of the little beasty. The short version is that I purchased 7 years ago to the month with 2.5k on the clock. Ran for a couple of years doing a couple of track days before a minor spill at Rockingham.

When sourcing new parts, I came across some carbon fairings and it went from there. This week I finally changed the old clip ons for the black powdercoated ones I had done a couple of years ago and never got round to fitting (forgot I had them). Turns out one was a little bent....

Anyway, fitted both sides and the effect is subtle but effective. It's a shame I waited til now to change them. I took the chance to replace a bolt in the lever guard as the head was mullered in the original and fitted a replacement screen.

Next was a smattering of titanium bolts that I had had for a while before it was bath time ready for the MOT. Enjoy the pics for now.

  3. Cheers buddy, it's not an accident. I used the JHP one as inspiration for my bargain basement version. Before the stickers and mirrors etc, it was a little more similar in appearance.
