Evening all - first post so apologies if it's in the wrong section! Got a 2020 Multi 1260S GT, installed the healtech servo eliminator and had no issues whatsoever, I have now removed the stock exhaust and added a Termignomi Slip On but the bike is coughing, spluttering and jerking at higher MPH. Any help greatly appreciated as really don't want to put the old can back on. Many thanks
I am thinking you disturbed something while doing the job, as the exhaust of itself would not cause issues. The first place to start would be the eliminator, make sure its plugged in correctly and that no water has ingressed. Any lights on the dash at all ?
No lights on the Dash and no problems with the eliminator with the stock exhaust. Eliminator not touched since install, just removed old exhaust, bolted new termi on and now this. Just wondering what I could have possibly disturbed
Might be worth taking off the end can and checking the flapper valve hasn’t strangely closed despite the eliminator.
So, removed the eliminator and better until 5th gear where it starts to splutter and jump. This happens around 6K rev range. The slip on was bought 2nd hand, was/ is in very good condition.
I guess the obvious thing to do is pop the original end can back on just to eliminate it being the Termi that’s causing the issue?
Sounds like a plan! I now have Engine Management Light on - no loss of power or change to the bike so I think it's the bloody Servo that's ceased up! Will plug the Healtech Servo Eliminator back in and see if the light goes out.
Might be off base but could there be different mapping that needs to be installed, only asking as my Termi’s had to have a new mapping on my V4. It might be worth a look before modifying things
FYI; in my experience the engine warning light will stay on for a few ignition cycles, with rides in between, after an issue causing an error is resolved.
***UPDATE*** So, took the Termi off and the servo flap in the exhaust was stuck about a 3rd shut! It was totally ceased, so I managed to clean it, re-grease it, open fully then install the Healtech Eliminator and job done. Engine management light went out after about 2/ 3 ride outs as @Bumpkin said it would - no problems since!
Did you lock wire the flap open. The mechanic that did mine didn't use lock wire and after a while the flap closed a bit. It's got fence wire holding it open now, no more problems.
The servo eliminator I have was fitted by Ducati main dealer, I don't remember what make it was so I couldn't say if it's meant to hold the valve open or not. I'm not sure whether the warning light came back on or if I noticed when I had the cover off for cleaning, it was a couple of years back. Its unable to move now anyway
