  1. Looking for a keeper as a birthday present to myself over the next 12 months or so, so not in any real hurry but the ££ is here should the right bike come along/be available.
Hit me up if you're looking to sell.
Would consider anything under 10k mileage.
Must be red and must have underslung termis already fitted (or akra).
Not fussed what other extras are or aren't fitted (within reason).
Not after an ex track bike.
    Thanks :upyeah:

  2. There is one at CuboMoto mate, would fit the bill perfectly, and I think they got messed around as it had gone and got relisted. It's 8K Miles, and is up for fairly big money but has the Ohlins shock and all the bits on.

As you probably saw, I just bought mine, similar spec, but just a smidge over 10.5k miles but loads of history and my god it's absolutely mint. I'm so so happy I went down the route of getting another 899, it's just so good. Easy to get carried away with stuff like the Panigale V2 but the 899 was just amazing.

  3. I know the one you mean and I saw the ad had disappeared but not seeing it reposted. I’ll give them a bell tmrw mate, thanks :upyeah:

  4. TBF Mate, I just re-checked and it's gone again so worth a call, they had 3 of them! Honestly.. All of the ones I was watching that aren't Superbike factory knackers (as most look damaged or missing parts from that place) have sold, so I genuinely think people are after the 899 at the mo, and definitely there is truth that they are getting more desirable than 959's.

  5. there seems to be a big difference between those bikes that are pre and post desmo service at 15k or am i seeing things?

  6. There was one for sale with 14.5k miles on it and no mention of the impending desmo service, so that put me off that bike (apart from the fact that's a bit much mileage for me).

There's too many non original ones that are wanting original prices. I paid maybe over the odds for mine, and if I got there and it was less than mint I'd have been upset, but it's so totally clean I'm okay with it as like Red, I want a keeper.

  7. Superbike shitbag Factory are killing the prices and seem to have the majority of 899s for sale right now , 9 grand for a bog standard 899 with 10k plus otc though :sob:

  8. TBF I paid £9600 for mine, but mint with Termi's and all the extras I want

  9. Thats a very low mileage 959 though and the underslung Akras its as close as your going to get to a 899. The 899 Cubomoto are selling has had 6 owners, too many for me.

  10. Thanks ive had one before and they sound amazing with the akras. Same price i paid too (although not the same price i sold it for lol).

As Phil said im specifically after an 899 , just found it the most fun bike ive ridden and want to grab hold of one for the forseeable. Ill probably spend more time looking at it than riding it too.

Happy to wait for the right one though.:upyeah:

  11. I get that mate, but I know lots don't care at all about owner amounts, it makes a tiny bit of difference to trade in prices but often reflected in sale price. I'd rather higher owners but better spec bike and the corse is arguably the best 959.

It's the beauty of the market as everyone likes different things, but also good for me as it meant less 'competition' when I went to buy my 899 haha

  12. ive been checking prices for ages, good one with termis are over 9K nearer 10, they seem to sell really quickly theres one on AT with 39K miles and i bet its gone in a week

  13. that ones been there a while, it's way too bigger mileage for my taste and I guess others. But I agree, good ones are deep in the £9's and going up, worth remembering as well, the 899 is still a LOT rarer than the 959 which surprises me, however that's skewed slightly as the 899 only sold for 2 years, and the 959 sold for 4-5 years and the tri-options alone generates a lot of 'sales' in the loosest sense.

  14. think the 899/1199/1299 was the best era for looks on the panigales, some of the current era are actually pretty ugly

for me the termis was an absolute must, had one on my CBR600, loved it, they look cool and are the only choice on a ducati, the red white and blue just looks right, like an Agip sticker, but they seem to put about £1k on the price, when i bought mine there was only 8 on sale in the country

i prefer the looks over the 959, even with an underslung exhaust

  15. To be fair it would cost you a bit more to buy them new and get them fitted so im ok with that, like you say its finding a one thats the issue.

  16. Am I right in thinking the 959 is heavier and slower than its predecessor due to Euro 5 shenanigans?

  17. 959 is heavier by about 10kg, not sure its slower. i never noticed it if it is.

  18. It's a fair bit heavier, but not slower tbh, where it starts to suffer is there are emissions 'restrictions' in the rev range low down and it has longer gearing. If you can find the real dyno comparisons it makes less power really low down than the 899 does, but then beats it up high. JHS did a really great dyno video talking about the philosophy of these engines versus something like a 999, that while similar on horsepower absolutely destroys the 955 superquadro all the way up to about 9k rpm
