  1. Might I suggest that you're riding with the wrong group...

  4. Yeah sadly that was my view in the end. There are about 4-5 of us now that meet up on the quiet to go for more sensible rides. I think thats also about the right number, the rides where there were 20 of us were just chaos in the end

  5. Tyres were interesting. It was 5 degrees. I asked the tyre guy what pressures as I’ve not ridden on track at that temperature before.
36 front. 33 Rear off the warmers. “Check them immediately you get in and if maintained all good. If dropped add air. I thought he was joking initially. But I did what he recommended.
    Got in after session one.
    Rear 33 :upyeah:
    Front 29 :dizzy:
Cold air down the straights at WOT.

    :D

  6. Wise choice.
I only ever ride with one other rider on a ride out large groups together are begging to get either lifted or crash IME.

  7. I found that out when I got on a KTM 950 Adventure. Vertigo! And getting on (both literally and metaphorically in age)

  8. In the car and bike world I mix in, WOT is used quite often to indicate when you are on full power. As mentioned above it is likely borrowed from a more purposeful sense.

  9. I was averaging 1'50 on a 600. Sounds impressive until you realise how fast the racers go. Did you record any time?

  10. I stopped group riding, and the group meets. Standing round staring at bikes not my thing. 2/3 max on a ride.

  11. No mate. It would have been pretty slow though. Damp and 5 degrees.

  12. I will WOT on some regular roads as i come out of nice long bend, just the feeling the bike gives me in that moment is amazing but those moments are not often because of traffic and not taking risks.

I have tried group rides but get to frustrated by the stop start of it all. i go out now in a group of 3 with lad on pillion.

  13. I crashed at Mcleans being over zealous on the throttle. Glad you came back in one piece.

  14. You should be screwing the nuts off it at every opportunity. If it was a woman it would be looking for a new rider!

  15. you need to spend more time on "bike chat forums " Symon :) and don't be worried, it also took me a long time before I understood that no one was talking about Walton on Thames.

  16. Think this is why I enjoy my 748 so much, I can ride it much harder than the 1098 with proportionaly less risk but more fun. The sensation of using more of the rev range especially down the twisties is great. Don't do track days but maybe I'll get my arse into gear and finally rebuild the TZ and have one last blast for old times sake. Have to admit I do quite often hit the rev limiter in the car but then I clock the fuel consumption shown on the dash and calm down again.
