No one it’s how the Tory voters and party react to being criticised for introducing policies similar to 1930 German facism.
The bill is outrageous. It is making protest essentially unlawful and some of the pre-emotive things at the police disposal seems remarkable! (From what I’ve read) Although many rules are there now: observation orders, gathering dispersal if without permission (!!!!)
Back on thread….I’m watching the world slowly get stuck in navel gazing and outrage at things which previously would have been ignored and laughed at
He doesn’t mention National Socialism in his tweet. Posted below for you for the avoidance of doubt. ‘immeasurably cruel policy directed at the most vulnerable people in language that is not dissimilar to that used by Germany in the 30s’ I am these changes to the law and the intent to break treaties with other nations is straight out of 1930’s Germany. You appear to believe that the only stand out of Fascist Germany was the extermination of unwanted or unwelcome. There were a lot of incremental changes to German law that deprived certain groups of voice which latter led to the barbarity inflicted upon enemies of the people as the Nazi party portrayed the ‘others’. You appear to be either conflicted, confused or in denial maybe all three when you then go on to say this. "If Liberty means anything at all, it means the right to tell people what they do not want to hear."
No I’m an objective. I don’t get caught up in this left v right shit. Take a pill mate: the world isn’t against you and all that don’t agree are not reaching right wing racists! So now I’m watching lots of young and not so young women on the lash with very short and tight clothing.
Clearly you are not. Tory policy is against my beliefs in the same way that if Labour were in power doing the same they would also be against it too. You do understand that not all racists sit on the right don’t you? The right and decent thing is to accept refugees as we are obligated to do my domestic law and international treaty, not to change a law to suit those who don’t want ‘others’ here.
Commenting on the Illegal Migration Bill on Tuesday, Lineker called it an "immeasurably cruel policy directed at the most vulnerable people in language that is not dissimilar to that used by Germany in the 30s". Where has he done that? All he’s done is condemn the language used by comparing it to the the nationalist language that led to the rise of facism in 1930s Germany.
First they came for the Communists And I did not speak out Because I was not a Communist Then they came for the Socialists And I did not speak out Because I was not a Socialist Then they came for the trade unionists And I did not speak out Because I was not a trade unionist Then they came for the Jews And I did not speak out Because I was not a Jew Then they came for me And there was no one left To speak out for me. Those in power have no idea what effect their flippant racist rhetoric has on the average forum poster. I’m still watching Get Shorty coz it’s the best thing on the telly right now.
Watched She Said last night. Takes a little while to get going but worth the effort. Not quite All the President's Men but pretty good nonetheless.
Luther film on Netflix. Not his best, but the end poses a few questions as go his future on our screens...
