What make is that? What’s the spec? Should you ever need it I know a guy who fixes anything and everything on e-bikes. Motors, battery packs the lot. In fact he does 250W add on packs. So if you’ve got a 500W pack this converts it to a 750W pack no matter what brand.
So after pictures of nicely specced road bikes and E-bike bling lets have a singlespeed throw back... Highest tech bit on the bike is the bottle cage... Not much to get frozen or clogged with snow though...
No - but I have a flip flop hub on my 26er so one side is freehub, the other side fixed. IMHO a Fixie off road is no fun...
IMO fixed is velodrome only, crazy sport but good fun bunch racing remembering to keep pedalling whilst hoping the guy 25mm in front also remembers to too.
I did the the UK s/s championship one year - 300 ish singlespeeds - at the prize presentation they asked "anyone on a fixie" - 3 people got prizes for doing the Dalby forest circuit on fixies - even we (the s/s riders) thought they were insane...
I like the simplicity of a SS on the road and not so often off it. Although for me very restrictive on what route you can ride. I’d find a fixie just too restrictive for my taste.
My SS is my daily ride - I just love the directness of it - they are so much fun on singletrack as they accelerate and change direction so fast. And of course you know dam well you are going to be working on the climbs with no easy gears to save you...
29er single speed rigid. Not the most sociable of bikes in that at the bottom of every climb its a case of getting as much speed up as possible then keeping the momentum. Pulls out of corners well and suspension is over rated.
I have one of those frames on my wall - I snapped it just behind the bottom bracket about 10 days before a race, got it welded, rode it in the race, replaced it with a new niner frame, the niner frame broke 5 days before a big event, hauled the 'dale of the wall, rebuilt it, raced it for 24 hours and took the class win and 3rd overall. And I'd broken the weld again sometime in the night...
35 miles today, into the New Forest, stopped for lunch at the Potting Shed at Hyde for a Sophie’s Sausage Butty and black Americano. Highly recommended !
