That's rubbish. I got a letter entitled "Ultra Low Emission Zone - Compliance Registration". Is yours the same? The letter clearly states "We can confirm that this vehicle meets the required standards, is exempt from the scheme or is subject to a 100% discount. This means you do not need to pay a ULEZ charge" Tough to see how this wouldn't stand up in court. That said, I checked mine online the same day and it also says it meets emission standards https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/check-your-vehicle/
Mine says “Based on the information that you have provided we can confirm that your vehicle, registration XXXXXXX is subject to the ULEZ and meets the emission standards. This means you do not have to pay the ULEZ charge to travel in the zone. Our vehicle compliance register will be updated accordingly”. I’ve no doubt it will stand up in court but I’m trying to get it sorted without resorting to this!
Got there in the end! It took over 10 months but but I finally got through to someone with some common sense (thank you Sadie Smith) who reversed the charges and re-issued the exemption. Checked online and all is well, I can ride in town (and leave the drive when Ulez expands). Hallelujah.
Sadie is the right person for Ducati ULEZ exemptions. @Ducbird There is probably a case for a ULEZ Forum with the proposed ULEZ area expansion in London area and other UK cities.
I got the letter from Ducati Hologogation team stating the NOx level on my 888 being 0.10g/km and at first they said it wasn't good enough and needed the full certificate of conformity. I challenged them that I have provided the Homolgation Team's response as one of the options and as of today have a compliant Ducati 888!
How long did it take from the application to the reply from TFL? I have just applied today with the V5 and the declaration from Ducati for my 749 and Supersport 900
A while ago now, but I recall being surprised how quickly Sadie responded. Days, not months. In my case Ducati emailed TfL and TfL responded to me with a
Total time from requesting the letter from Ducati to getting it finally approved took 2 and 1/2 months. I did start it just before Christmas, so it took longer due to the holiday period.
This morning I have received an email from the TFL rejecting my ULEZ application saying that I have not provided the correct documentation. I have sent the V5 and the signed Declaration received from Ducati Bologna and they rejected it. This is their letter attached to the email: ''Thank you for your registration request on 13 March 2023 for Vehicle ******. Please be advised we are unable to accept the Homologation letter that you sent as proof of your vehicle being compliant. Alternatively, we may accept a letter from the manufacturers Homologation Department, confirming the specifics of the vehicle registration mark and VIN and outlining the specific emissions data/Euro standard of the vehicle with a full copy of the Vehicle registration document. Letters provided by other departments, such as customer services, or obtained from the dealer network will not be accepted. Please note that any missing data is not recorded upon the vehicle registration document and will not be passed onto DVLA when trying to correct the vehicle emissions data they hold.'' Has anyone had the same reply?
You haven't done it right. Thanks for the feedback Paul. Did you ask Ducati to send the V5 and Letter directly to TFL? Because on their letter they specified '' Letters provided by other departments, such as customer services, or obtained from the dealer network will not be accepted'' which is not the case because the letter I have sent is provided by the manufacturer. Ducati has sent the letter to me by post by the Ducati UK.
That isn't quite how it worked out. This was the process I followed: - Step 1 - Send an email requesting help with a ULEZ emissions letter for the UK to Ducati Customer Service by emailing [email protected] Step 2 - Ducati Italy will contact you and and ask you confirm that you want to progress and will ask for a copy of the registration document of the bike (front and back) with your name as current owner and frame number reported and a copy of your valid personal document (I did a passport image) and they will then contact Ducati UK. Step 3 - Ducati UK will contact you asking for you to provide photographs of the following: - Front Rear Left hand side Right hand side Engine details (must be able to read clearly all this information) Homologation sticker (Silver sticker either on the frame of the bike or under the seat) Your postal address details as the ULEZ Document will be posted out via Royal Mail. Once submitted Ducati UK will then request an Emissions Statement from Ducati Homologation in Bologna, Italy and should take 2 to 3 weeks extra to come back. As I submitted at Christmas, it took until now to arrive. Once all gathered, you need to log onto the TFL web site and submit a copy of your V5C (all four sides) and a copy of the letter.
