  1. Hi, Im a newbie to this forum.
I am a Brit, currently working in belfort France, close to the Swiss border.
I used to ride a Guzzi G5 a few years back but have recently decided to get back into biking again and purchased a 2002 ST4 916. I will be riding it from the UK across to France next week.

Thats all for now - Chris

  2. How do!... That'll be a nice ride!

  3. I'm off to France next week too

  4. Thanks for the welcome guys!!

  5. You take the Ferry of the tunnel? I'm not sure about ease of strapping the bike down on the ferry so am thinking of taking the tunnel

  6. Hi there and welcome,no need to worry on the ferry, they will secure your bike for you,at least on the ferry you can have a rest and get some food etc, tunnel very boring ,ferry part of the journey to me.Enjoy either way,and have a lovely ride down, great roads down to burgundy and the Jura.

  7. Alas, in a car, in the tunnel :frown:

  8. Allo Allo

  9. I have an old car over here in France that I have to drive back once a year for MOT test and I prefer the ferry for the same reasons, it breaks the journey & you can have a breakfast etc.
I just have visions of some deck hand winching my bike down to the deck with heavy duty lorry straps & I fear for my bike seat etc.
Agree the tunnel is Hot & boring

  10. Welcome to the forum

  11. Hello and welcome

  12. Hello and welcome to the mad house
    :)

  13. Well, it is pretty much like that but at least the tunnel is short and less faff getting on and off.
