have you been on SoundCloud? It beggars belief, people have recorded washing machines to help get their babies to sleep, and they last for upwards of an hour sometimes, endless Hoovers running, lawnmowers, you name it, one artist must've recorded thousands of hours worth, and given them different titles like some prize recording a la Ludwig Van Beethoven.
It’s a thing Chris, my Mrs and Daughter sleep with ‘White Noise’ playing all the time they’re asleep. Have done since my Daughter was born, The LA’s are rumoured to have tuned their guitars to the hum of a fridge.
Reminded of this on the RAH tour today. Not sure that "others" is a fair description for Susan Tedeschi, Derek Trucks & Ronnie Wood;

Looking thru my old CD's i re-discovered the extended version (9-ish mins) of 'Lucretia my reflection' by Sisters of Mercy...must have played it a dozen times back to back, outstanding Goth masterpiece.
I like... good stuff & jazzy enough to be different from the usual ambient sound..... and I'll be listening to the full 1.8 album in a moment (whilst at work). Re, Radiohead it just tickled me how similar it was to one of my oft listened to Tangerine Dream album...
