  1. Finally the MotoGP season gets underway this Friday with FP1 which starts at 9am and FP2 at 1:15pm, both on BT Sport 2. On Saturday, FP3 starts at 8:30am on BT Sport 5 followed by qualifying and the sprint race from 10am back on BT Sport 2. On Sunday, warm up starts at 9:30am followed by the race coverage starting a 10:15am, both on BT Sport 2. I’m guessing the BT Sport 5 is as a result of the Discovery takeover of Eurosport and BT Sport. Andy

  2. As you can probably imagine there’s quite a bit of excitement building in this household. Taking Friday off just to watch fp1 and 2 with no obligations.
    Enjoy everyone :upyeah:

  3. I think I’m more looking forward to Moto3 and Moto2 than MotoGP. It’s good to see perennial bad boy Romano Fenati back in Moto3 and of course there are 3 Brits in Moto2. I’d really like to hope Rory Skinner can step up this season. Both Sam and Jake seemed do well in testing. Andy

  4. bugger. BT Sport 5 is not on Sky. OK so long as they don't move the whole thing to BT sport 5.

  5. So looking forward to the season starting, I watch it all on MotoGP.com and it's never let me down. I connect my MacBook to the TV with an HDMI lead and enjoy all the action on the big screen. :)

  6. But is that live only?

  7. No not at all, you can catch up on any of the action at anytime afterwards.

  8. Plus 1 for motogp.com Qualifying, all the races, spoiler free replay etc.
Mrs J biker is now an avid watcher too.
Looking forward to selecting my team. Finished in the top 5% last year.
Of note, early test times often mean little. The real tell will be qualifying…though it does look like the usual Ducati fest, with a sprinkling of Aprilia and on slower tracks…Yamaha….or more specifically Fabio.
Whatever is going on with Frankie is anyones guess.

  9. I'd really like to see Frankie come good this season, he seems to have lost his way since the crash that busted his knee. Fingers crossed for him, if he doesn't improve this year, he'll definitely loose his factory seat. Maybe his his old pal and mentor VR will get him on a VR46 Ducati nest year. :p

  10. IMO, I cannot see Morbidelli surviving the season with anything less than a return to the form he showed that got him the factory seat. Only up side is, I cannot see anyone wanting to ride the Yamaha in its current form :D Fingers crossed for an entertaining season. Andy

  11. Morbidelli is on a sticky wicket, unless he can really pull it around he'll be gone and probably won't get another seat in the big class. I'd imagine by the summer break we'll know where his future lies.

Likewise Nakagami was nowhere in testing and is lucky to have this year in the big class, it'll be his final year I'm sure.

  12. Can it be a first ever for the Ducati factory for back to back wins, and what about that other Italian manufacturer Aprilla bagging their first Motogp championship, both their rider & team have learned a lot in the past twelve months.

  13. It is a mystery tbh how either rider still has a seat. Both fairly capable on their day, but that was a few seasons back. Morbi showed nothing last year. Nakagami seems to crash when he starts to push. Neither justifying a place at the top table.
Considering the ultra high level required to have a chance of a podium, never mind challenge for the championship, I would be harsh, and say they are both complete no hopers. This has to be their last season.

  14. Team chosen. As ever, limited by shuffling the ‘money’.

  15. I will be interested to see how Rins goes…

  16. Bezzechi is a good pick i think, can see the mooney team beating the factory boys more than once this season.

  17. “wrist injury of an unspecified origin”

Boys will be boys and all that.
