Going to make the effort to watch a hill climb this year, July22/23 Ex WRC climb. https://www.shelsleywalsh.com/events
Nice. Wheeler Dealers ran their Lotus there in the last series. I recall one called Prescott my mate used to do most years.
An old acquaintance raced NHAC years ago, went on to build his circuit racing team in many championships up from that experience. Lost contact with him but was told he’d passed away, been there as a kid.
Less of a hill climb, more of a sprint up a very steep driveway, but always interesting to see what turns up to race. https://www.hoghtontower.co.uk/special-events/motorcycle-sprint-at-hoghton-tower/ The Tower is supposed to be where King James 1, staying overnight, was so impressed with the loin of beef he was served, that he drew his sword and knighted it, ‘Sir Loin’, thus naming the cut of beef to this day.
Have been going to Shelsley for many a year now. Classic nostalgia is always a fab weekend. But there is also a new day this year which promises a good bit of action. Bikebonanza!! 1st July https://www.shelsleywalsh.com/events-1/bike-bonanza-2023
My best mate and touring buddy does both Shelsley, Prescott and few other hill climbs and sprints in his special. Holds a few records. It was built in 1928 IIRC, 996cc JAP, supercharged and runs on methanol. He rides a 996 on the road too
