Mist pop along. When do they take place? I knew there were a bunch of Ducatis coming that weekend, I was there in my car having a chat to the owner and his missus and he mentioned it, but we had people staying over so I couldn’t come along.
I went to oily rag in the summer for the first time and tbh I wasn't thrilled, it was a night fully of harley/chopper/crap customs, was a bit of a weird atmosphere!
Yes, it's a Henry Cole fave too. I only went as it was the first DOC Glos meet and I fancied a peek at Oily R. It's a business and the peeps that run it seem ok so I'm not knocking it, but I doubt I'll go again. Definitely rather Harley, etc as you say...
An alternative to the Oily Rag, though quite a bit further, but good roads getting there, is Baffle Haus just south of Abergavenny.
I'd like to go to Baffle Haus but need a full day I think to be able to go, which I struggle to get with dog walks/kid etc
Yes it is one of the stops on the https://facebook.com/events/s/round-ribbon-ride-the-newburge/512811420717833/
I’m away at the moment otherwise would have liked to join the event as these guys fill a very important role.
It promises to be good I think there is 500 tickets and there is talk they have nearly all gone ,(don't if that was said to get more people to buy though), hopefully there will be a fair bit raised for the blood bikes
My usual venue that way is the bus station caf in Abergavenny. Not posh, which suits me, but may give this place a whirl.
The Oasis is OK in decent weather where there tends to a be a good turnout at weekends. The Baffle Haus is a bit more Hipster in flavour with big comfy sofas, frothy coffees and a shop that sells merch. Burgers were pretty damn good when I was there a few weeks ago.
That’s good to know. Thanks. Only took my hyper out on hot days but the multi is getting use in all weathers so it’s nice to have the option of somewhere with indoor warmth.
I used to go to the bus station a few times a year also the steel horse haven't been down that way for a while . A mate told me the steel horse had closed down so its nice to know new places opening up
