New to the forum but have a had a 900ss in the past among other makes. Bought this little rarity yesterday. The plan is to restore it to as new condition with a view to showing it. 1991 400SS. I restore cars (30+ years) and now and then the odd bike. At present I'm restomodding a ZZR600 but looking forward to starting to the 400. I'm hoping you guys can keep me right along the way.
Think you’re in the right place here. @Chris is all knowledgeable on all things SS (not the murdering branch of the Nazi movement) Although I don’t know him that well Welcome
many of us on here to help Anthony, one big happy family. Bike seems to be a corker and on the face of it looks to need nothing, I would probably ride that as is after a once-over. I had a lovely 400 and should have kept it, preferred it to a 600 for it's fun power delivery and 11K red-line which made a glorious sound. I doubled my oil change frequency on mine because it took a relative larruping compared to it's bigger sisters, plus fuelling was slightly over-generous as std.
Plenty of knowledge for the beloved SS on this here forum Start a restore thread when your ready welcome into our mad house
Thanks all for the welcome. Chris, its been off the road a few years so needs tyres, belts etc and part of the fairing painted so rather than do things in bits I'm just going to blitz it once I get the ZZR and my little Fiat 500 done. I really am looking forward to hearing it though
I have to say sorry. I went out and bout another classic car, in my defence its a car I've been after for a long time but never had the opportunity to buy so unfortunately the Duc has to make way to allow the funds to work on the car. If I can work a way round before it sells (yes its up for sale) then I'll keep it and look at doing it next year but for now I've no choice but to let it go.
