There are local companies but I loaned a KTM450 (mental thing) through a mate. Never done it before but thoroughly enjoyed it. Highly recommended… I can get some contacts if you’re interested?
Only just found this thread! I bet in all 145 pages of it there isn’t anyone else taking a Scrambler Cafe Racer around amongst a bunch of Panigales?
I rode a 350 LC for a meeting at Brands after I had fallen off my 250 MkIII in 1977. What a difference. Front wheel aviation took hold quickly and the brakes actually worked I then did a Chas Mortimer track day at Doni and got black flagged for riding too fast when it started raining. In my mind I just didn't slow down for the brown river crossings before and after the old hairpin.
Was there in Novice also as my first euro. Found Cartagena to be really tricky, never figured out the penultimate corner, was wide into T3 almost every lap. Enjoyed the middle sector however, which had a nice flow. Was ill on the 3rd day (thought it was the beer but stayed with me for a week), but kept it out of the gravel. Loved Cartagena the city.
Arai Giga, Fieldsheer leathers, Frank Thomas Gloves and Gaerne boots and a half a body weight lighter.! Great days when, apart from one guy who constantly ran an oversized engine (Kenny Kronk), everyone was really quite honest. Martin Taylor, series sponsor, made sure of that.
The first time I rode on any track was 1981, at Goodwood, on a Chas Mortimer Racing school 400rd. Great fun..!!
I remember seeing your bike there mate, also the black zx10r in the back ground, had some good spats with him
It very nearly got sold to developers. Thankfully, someone with foresight, turned it into what it is now with the Goodwood Festival & The Revival. The track is in better condition than it was 40 years ago. Lovely track and bloody quick too.
