There are better bikes for commuting. And there are better bikes for riding a serious twisty road. I'm not sure there's a bike out there that does all of the things I mentioned above to such a high standard. Ok the PP isn't 10 out of 10 in all areas, but it's at least 9 out of 10 in all areas. Whereas other bikes might get a 10 in some areas but seriously lack in others. Are we playing top trumps here? Anyway my heated grips arrived in the post a few days ago and, as the connector to plug them into is under the tank, I got the bloke to fit them for me while he was installing a tracker and dashcam. Heated seat arrived today and I installed that myself. Am I correct in assuming that these features will need to be activated by a Ducati dealer? The heated grips button doesn't seem to do anything and I can't find anything in the menu about the seat still.
Thanks for confirming! That's fine it's going for it's first service soon and they're fitting the centre stand for me as well so hopefully they won't charge too much extra to press those two buttons on their computer for me!
I knew I'd get some ribbing for that! I like to play Russian Roulette with my fingers and clean/lube my chain with it on the stand, in first gear and engine running. Yeah I know I'm going to get a barrage of abuse for admitting to that! Oh by the way, what's the procedure for adjusting the chain on the single sided swingarm PP?

A Ducati paddock stand when in the garage is far classier, plus think of all the weight savings. I reckon the 5kg saved is definitely good for at least 0.000001 seconds off the 0-60. Worth it.
I had a V4s , made the mistake to change for a PP , went back to the V4s and again was very very happy . I do ride fast and the V4s works as well if not better as the Ohlins have restrictions to usealble gains on the road. The Race mode on the road ,unless billiard smooth, is a wasted feature unless tracking it, at which point get your track bike out as it will be lots better and less expensive to trash. The PP is a tarts handbag of parts for the mass market junkies ( as I was one , and regreted it). This is my opinon only as the V4 Multi as a base line engine and chassis is a fantastic and underestimated package , yes a sports bike may take you on a big A road but the All Roads Multi just shines , whether on 19/17 or 17/17 configuration it more where and how you use them for your gains. I also only do tarmac and if off road will use one of the off roaders for that purpose , or track bike for the other. Defence for the V4S rests its case ...... as a foot note not meant to upset or wind up , just balance the information as per experiences.

I remember a puncture under the Millau Bridge (okay on the GS but you get the picture , big bike heavy etc), without the centre stand that would have been a nightmare , the vanity of some makes me smile . Love mine and just put it on again with the de cat .
Where on earth has vanity come from? With a bad back, getting the bike on the centre stand is touch and go, so I just carry a Groller when I go on a trip, it’s perfect for lubricating the chain, and finding punctures. Stop making assumptions, it’s very unbecoming.
Sorry must have hit a sensitive spot . Never had issues with the centre stand even with the neck damage I have and also lower back issues , it the way you do it makes it easy for me. To add the wheel had to come out and the tyre replaced , not that easy with a Groller. Everyone to their own tho.
Bikes of all kinds are ace. We all have different foibles. If we all liked and wanted the same thing, biking would be nowhere near as much fun. No bike can be great at everything, there are always compromises somewhere.
I Like a centre stand, for the ease of lubing and adjusting the chain and also when filling up with fuel as it allows you to get a full tank, however i struggle to position my left foot so it doesn't catch the stand.
No idea if you have bought a new seat yet but before you do, try one of these. I appreciate the suggestion but I'm not digging the aesthetics :-( Ok so I got my new heated raised seat delivered just before I went to Devon for a long weekend. I fitted it although I've not yet had chance to get the dealer to activate it in the menu. Admittedly I haven't taken the standard seat for anywhere near as long a ride as I ended up taking the raised heated seat... but I think even after the first 50 miles I could tell a difference in the comfort levels and I fear you may be right that the heater element is actually making the top layer MORE firm and therefore less comfortable. I'm not 100% sure. I'd want to fit the standard seat back to it and try a similar length trip again, but I was definitely feeling it less than an hour into the ride and I don't remember that being the case before. With that in mind, I guess now I have the original spare seat I can use to either post to Top Sellerie or get someone local to reupholster, and once I have the finished product back in my possession and am happy with it I can probably recoup most of the cost of the heated seat by selling it used on Ebay as it'll be fairly low mileage and the parts are tricky to get hold of from Ducati anyway. I think I paid £220 so shouldn't have any trouble getting at least £150 back for it... in theory! Any more thoughts on my bum pain?
