+1 thankfully somebody equally as exciting has taken his seat. What a team Stoner and Marquez would have made
Thats a very very good idea and actually probably the best way for him to come back to the sport with less stress. Think about it, if he comes back to Honda he's got to beat MM straight away and whilst I think Stoners easily fast enough to cope with MM, if he was on the Ducati he could build up to it gradually again as the time off must have taken a bit of an edge from him. it would also give Ducati two routes of design & set up. Crutchlow coming from the stability of the M1 could go that direction and Stoner could go the loose and wild direction with the TC down low and sliding it round the corners. 1 bike, 2 directions. It's worth a try isn't it Mr Audi (wink wink)
Could be interesting, but Honda made Stoner feel a lot more welcome than Ducati ever did. It would have to be a really sweet deal
Its no secret that Stoner's my favourite GP rider, but you have to respect the guys talent on the bike. Yes his PR brain is awful, but the dude retires from bike racing to go fishing and piss about in V8s, but is still one of the top five riders in the world and that is a fact.
i guess because he's Casey Stoner, rather fast, has time on his hands and ultimately Honda have nothing but praise for his feedback whilst working for them so I guess it's good for both parties. the rumour mill would suggest its a ploy for him to see if it still floats his boat, for Honda to see if he's still fast and ultimately both of which get a shed load of pr out of it whatever happens. In every press release I've read there are firm statements 'he will not make a wild card appearance this year' no mention of next year or the word 'ever' i think they'll be talking over this next few weeks/months and with a bit of luck he'll return. hopefully Ducati drop him a line and see if they can get in on the action
One thing to remember: Honda pissed him off big time by leaking his decision to retire. That was the final straw for him- people interfering in his life decisions in the hope it would pressure him into staying. Ducati may stil be an option as they have a brand new management team. I live in hope!
