950 Oem Panniers Or Seat Bag - Indulge Me...

  1. It's your fault I bought the bag :D but it is a cracking piece of kit.

From years of lugging GS panniers around Europe, I've learned to pack light and keep trying to take less each trip, but having used a bag for around three years now, I just fancy trying the panniers and I'm one of those who has to have the bike looking as good as it can, which I think Ducati managed to get right on the Multistrada.

I reckon I could get away with packing only one pannier, so sticking little used stuff like chain spray, puncture kit, spare gloves etc in the right, plus my 'ferry pack' (change of clothes and trainers/flip flops) on the exhaust side, then space for any dirty stuff, leaving me the other pannier as my daily in and out bag.

I also think the panniers keep the weight lower down, so overall, that's the way I think I am going.

No doubt I'll knock one off on day two though - that's my life :D

  2. Anyone have the pannier bracket torque settings handy?

  3. Do you want to rephrase that last sentence

  4. After a day cooped up on a boat, I can be excused :D

  5. I tend to pack one pannier with ‘bike stuff’, tools, spare gloves etc. The other pannier has packing cubes inside the inner bag, one with spare riding kit, one with evening kit.
However I also take a top box as I like to have my Rukka gear for heavy rain and my Klim vented jacket and jeans for hot weather. I know it’s too much but I know I can be comfortable whatever the weather.
