  1. Looks like it's increased overnight then from £101 to your figure, for over 600cc engines.........bastards.!!!

  2. Can only be emissions. Or cc.

  3. The profiteering government with their payment options on road tax pisses me right off
For those on low income living in rural areas a vehicle is an essential part of daily life, yet if you can’t afford to pay the one off 12 monthly bill your are forced to pay incrementally and at a higher rate!
    WTAF!

This is not a new issue but it’s bugging me for a long time.

  4. The thing that also boils my piss a majority of rural non big brand fuel stations charge well below what the big brands do, Lentwardine fuel station is about 15 per litre lower on diesel than my outskirts of town Shell station.

  6. I get what you’re saying and if you live close to one of these non big brand stations happy days, you’ve got cheaper fuel right on your doorstep
    I however do not.
But this is profiteering between private companies, something free market laws dictate
The government on the other hand should not be penalising the lower paid.
Charging more to those whose budget won’t stretch to the yearly fee is utterly wrong.
This is after all just another tax levy

  7. The ownership of a top marque isn’t without consequences, IMO the VED should be abolished and applied to fuel duty. Pay for miles you actually drive/ride.

Below apparently states motorcycles are capacity biased, however in your case that isn’t true is it? Might be they just guess.

  8. Neither do I sadly it’s just a piss boiling observation I can afford it however as you point out the less well off can’t.

There are ICE vehicles exempt from VED which would be the governments defence of VED.

It is another levy, as I stated in my reply to Poucher VED needs abolishing and the duty added to fuel.

  9. Yea, I’m beginning to think it’s emissions based as an 899 Panigale cost me more than a 1043 Ninja,.. gotta be it ?

  10. Did you say you can plug into ecu and check a code Chas? The engine light is still on

  11. The panigale will have bigger cc won’t it?

  12. Pouchers is a 899, the kwackkwack is over a 1,000 slightly. So you hope the 899 is cheaper as in the article I shared it stated 2 wheelers were capacity based not emissions.
    899=euro3 Kwackkwack=euro4

  13. In which case makes no sense

  14. it truly doesn’t does it, unless there’s a formula we aren’t aware of.

  15. Went out for first ride of the year on the Monster yesterday. Just a local bumble to P&H to see what’s what etc.
Was chatting to a Harley rider outside whilst having a fag. He was telling me how he liked Triumphs, Yam MT09s and Ducatis as “they are all triples”….

  16. He got his marquees mixed up, MV are the triples he was aiming for. :)

  17. I wouldn’t be so kind…he was an eejit. Especially as my M1100 was running at the time so he could hear it.

  18. As always, you start a job then find you don’t have the bolts you need!! Decided to take the 2” riser off the monster, certain I had shorter bolts to fit as I have had loads of these over the years. Sure enough, nope!! 15mm too short or larger diameter bolt. Bollox.

  19. It’s that pesky dry clutch sounds like a badly running third cylinder.

  20. Horrendous dry clutch you mean. Started mine yesterday. Hate it: rattle rattle rattle crack crack rattle. Like hols being shaken in a tin box. Need to get a standard clutch cover!
