996 My New 996

  1. Sometimes when these opportunities come along, you’ve just got to go for it! A 1999 996 which has had pretty much a nut and bolt resto a couple of years ago by a fellow forum member. It hasn’t really been used for the last 2 years but the previous owner added a new OEM tank and repainted the mono seat. I’ve had it in with Steve Jordan in Surrey for a mini recommission which included new belts, exact start cables, new starter motor, new reg rec and the oils and filters and coolant. It runs a treat!

  3. Mat Armstrong?

  4. That’s the one, it annoyingly has his initials on the other side but I don’t mind too much. His YouTube channel is great

  5. You really nailed the bin shot.
This has spurred me to tax my 996 and make some noise….

  10. I’ve got 70mm on mine. I’ve always been careful with noise until the old girl over the road had a pop at me over me sweeping leaves into the road (she didn’t realise I was then going to sweep them up).

So just to keep her happy I leave it on tickover while I (slowly) put my gloves and lid on now. :innocent:
